Question about Casio G'zOne Boulder Cell Phone

1 Answer

I dropped my phone in warm/hot water, and it was fine. A day later and now the outside screen has water droplets in it, and flickers, and the main screen is foggy and the colors are negative now. It's a g'zone boulder from verizon, and its a two week old replacement phone. would it be covered for water damage since its supposed to be water proof, or how can i fix it. thanks!

You may be able to get a replacement since it is suppose to be waterproof.

Dropped my cell in water

does your phone still work after being submerged?? i did the same and it was toast...

the screen is layered...glasss, lcd, and they are not meant to come apart. The phone needs to be left out, taken apart as far as you can get to air out. Leave it for a day or so, and put together. Hope this helps

Blackberry Pearl in water

The screen has been damaged internally. You also might have risked frying out the hardware with turning it on with the moisture still inside the phone. It also sounds like some of the moisture may still be stuck inside the phone which could cause the screen to have problems.

If you would like to try, you can take apart the phone to try and remove moisture that way. This guide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQxMmsrnwfU will help you out in doing so. Also understand by taking apart the phone it voids any warranty. Yet since you dropped the Pearl in the water, its already out of warranty since the little water sensitive strips (inside and outside) the phone have been turned red which destroys the warranty.

Your best option is to just get the phone replaced because a phone never works the same after water damage.

Hope this helps;

Outside and inside screen is "black", but still "glows" when powered on?

My phone is doing the same thing. My phone hasn't been dropped or exposed to any liquids, but the screens are not working. LG suggested that I send it to them. If they can't fix it, they will just replace it. The only thing I have to pay for is sending it to them. I can make and receive calls but I can't read text messages which is why I mainly got the phone. Just send it to LG Wireless. Call them and they will give you a number that has to be attached to the package and the phone. Within two weeks, they will fix it or replace it. I had to get my LG 8500 replaced, and it was no problem.

Dropped my Sanyo Katana cell in a cup of soda!!

probably too late but he first thing to don in that sit. is rinse the phone in a 75/25 solution of alcohol and water. then open up as you did and let it dry. if you can see water on the display screen your probably out of luck but keep it warm and dry for a few days and see what happens.
