If you're lucky, one might be listed on EBay. Enter the full model number when searching. Good luck.

I have an hp compaq 6720s and my charge port light blinks rapidly, it wont let me charge my battery and the computer wont turn on when the battery is full any thoughts?

Usually a rapid blinking charge light is alerting you of a battery fault. Try taking the battery out, plugging your computer in, and turning it on (with the battery out). If it boots up, then your battery is to blame, call customer service right away and see about getting a new battery.

I don't know how to open hp compaq 6720s, to see condition of power jack. It was loose and it was overheating. I unscrew everything I can, but I still can't open nootebook. Do you have a service manual or...

1) S-T-O-P!!

You need to follow Anti-Static Precautions or you will fry out your computer, and turn it into an expensive paperweight.

Your body carries Static electricity. Static will fry out (Short Circuit) the hardware components inside a computer.
You need to de-static your body before working on a computer.

The proper method is to wear an ESD wrist strap, and connect it's alligator clip to a good ground source. (Electro Static Discharge)
I connect to the metal frame of an empty desktop computer case.
Example of an ESD wrist strap,

Average cost is around $3 to $6.
Work on a table.

The next option is to have a metal object on the table that you can touch before opening the laptop.
If you leave your laptop in the middle of working on it, be SURE to touch the metal object upon your return.
This metal object should be steel, or iron. A fairly large Knick-Knack, or serving dish, or something similar.

2) Use a mutli-compartment container for the various screws you will remove. Mark each container for the area the screws came out of.
You can use an egg carton in a pinch. Mark each each egg holder.

There may be as many as 60 screws, and 12 different types.
Some look VERY similar to others, but aren't.
DO NOT mix them up.

3) Make notes and drawings as you disassemble, and/or use a camera, or video cam.
Nice to have a record to come back to in case you get interrupted.

Now Left-click on > HP Compaq 6720s Notebook PC - Service and Maintenance Guide

This is a PDF file. The computer you are on now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.
After you click on the above file name it may take up to 30 seconds before you see anything.

It may take additional time for the file to fully download, after you see the first page.
Suggest you let the file download all the way before looking through it.

Took 4 seconds to see the first page, and 70 additional seconds to fully download just now.
I have a medium speed DSL connection.

Hi its HP Compaq 6720s originally vista basic and i upgraded it to vista premium, now after installing i can see width size on screen has been reduced by 1-inch on both side , i do not have any manual keys...

First, right-click on the desktop where there are no icons and choose Display settings, may be in advanced settings, but look for supported screen resolutions.

If you pick one that is not supported, doing nothing when the screen goes wonky will automatically cause it to revert to what it was before you changed it.

One of the settings there should work for your screen.

If none work, go to your device manager and update the drivers for the display.

Replacment sound card for hp compaq 6720s.

Your system does not have, in a soundcard per se. It uses integrated audio that is capable of delivering the features and high-end performance of an add-in audio card.

Ergo, assuming you are lacking sound, you can mosey on to the HP site and look for what they refer to as a 'softpaq'. Use the HP search engine on their website (rather pertinent results if i may say so myself).

1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.
2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

Check the display on External monitor, if the external monitor works fine, it could be an issue with the LCD and controller for the system board, better to replace the LCD.

but before that just be in a safer side.
