Aircon stops after few minutes without having the room cooled the correct temp. The compressor does not start .We have to wait for a long time after shutdown and restart for it to cool again. If not

Most possible reason in this case is defective compressor(it overheats),or not enough freon in the system. Solution 1.change compressor;2.Recharge the system with freon.

Please advise how to add freon to mitsubishi montero '01 air conditioner unit

The best thing i can tell you is to take it into a shop. You can add freon to a system but you need to know what kind your vehicle needs. If it takes the new current freon your in luck you can buy a recharge kit at any local parts store. If not you have a few options. You can get a conversion kit to change the system over to the new freon or you can try to find a shop that can recharge it with the older freon for your vehicle. Since its an 01 it should be the new freon but i cant be sure. There is a fitting with a cap on it on you AC Lines. should be 2 a red cap and a green cap. You remove the green cap and with the engine running attach a recharger bottle from the store and refill the system. Note the freon recharge kit will come with some instructions to always read them first. hope that helps good luck.

My a/c worked fine at midnight Sat/Sun, Sun morning about 10 am, truck turned on, turned a/c on, compressor will not turn on, light inside says it is, but its not turning, so the truck is blowing scalding...

You probably have lost all or most of your freon and will have to recharge the system. A gotcha is that the on board computer has locked your compressor out with a code that has to be cleared before your compressor will operate. This code protects your compressor from operating with less than minimum freon and oil carrier that lubricates the compressor. You can purchase a freon kit at a local parts store for about 25 bucks, but will be unable to put the freon in until you clear that code. Your vehicle probably has to be hooked up to an OBDII reader in order to clear the code. You could search on line to see if you can find a method that would allow you to clear the code with a jumper on the OBDII input connector. Otherwise you may have to have a dealer do the recharge, and they will insist that you fix the leaking problem that could run into hundreds of dollars.

How much pressure did i supposed to charge a freon to my one horse power window type airconfition?

For a r-22 refrigerant 68 psi on the low side while the unit is running. Otherwise you recharge with a refrigerant scale based on the weight specs on the service plate.

The AC turns on but is not blowing cold air. The fan seems its on but no cold air. Please help.

Possibly the unit is frozen and low on freon. Turn the unit off and put the fan off of auto to on. It should defrost! After doing this, you will need to call a professional to check to unit and recharge it with freon. If it continues to happen, there may be a leak somewhere! Good luck!

Carrier air-v AC is not blowing cold air

There could be a freon leak, or just low freon levels. If this is the case, you have to call a certified a/c technician to recharge your system.

Is an old unit worth fixing?

I recommend going with a new one. Both the coleman and the carrier are excellent and a whole lot more efficient that the 16 year old dometic.
