Question about Philips 42TA648BX 42 in. LCD TV

1 Answer

My screen does not come on but it has power to it. Sometimes if I go through a cycle of cycling (unplug and plug back in) it will come back on. But not now. Any ideas?

A bad capacitor or two will certainly make this TV act as you say. If you can remove the back cover, you may inspect and find a bulged capacitor or two. The bulge cap is a dead give away here. Replace this cap or two. The TV should fine after that. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

My screen is reading ' input is blocked ' we have no remote and now we can't watch anything. what can I do?

Have you tried to power cycle your TV? If not, try to do so and see if that works. Power cycling the TV can be done by turning it off, unplugging it, and then plugging it back in after a minute or so and powering it back on. Then restore settings back to factory defaults.
