Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have purchased a Palsonic 81cm wide screen LCD TV/Monitor TV Model No: TFTV321FHD 2 Years ago. For the past 2 months my TV for unknown reasons will not start when I turn it on This can sometimes go on for hours if not the whole night into the next day. Then it can go great for some time if not months then the same thing happens all over again. I thought it may have been the batteries but I change them when they are due to be changed, but still have this problem. I have even turned the power off completely for a few hours with no results. Could you please answer this for me Thank you Sally Glover

My problem with my Plasonic Flat screen TV has been fixed.
It had a few things wrong with it,all starting and finishing with the Compactors dying and the Remote Sensor Board needing replacing.
Palsonic came and took my TV away for over a week and fixed the problem for me.

However, as the technican explained to me my TV is in one of the ones that "Over heat" as he put is there will always be some problem. As my waranty runs out next June I'm hoping I can get through it without much more trouble. anything after that and he suggested not to get it fixed but replace it as TV's only have a 10 year life span in them.
He did also comment that these types of Flat screen TV's were never meant for TV usage, but someone in their wisdom took it upon themselves and created TV's out of them.
My TV is going good FINALLY

Take the tv back cover apart, check the tv power supply board, that the board where the power a/c cord plug into it.Check all over the power supply board, for dying parts call capacitors. The dying capacitors are alway bulging or puffing ups on it tops.U have all the tools and understanding basic electronic also can do basic soldering?Yes.Repalces all those dying capacitors, with new capacitors with same Micro Ferid but the voltages higher like 5 or 10 voltges for better heat resistance.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Why does my Sony Google TV NSX-46GT1 46 in. HDTV LCD TV powers up, displays application screen on bottom, makes a computer chime and shuts off completely, and starts the same process over and over aga

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

My Memorex flatscreen TV purchased almost 2years ago stopped working about 2 months ago, it will stay on for 1 minuet max. I don't know what to do I have seen Tv's last for 20 years and this one...

It is had to give you any technical info without the model number of the unit but in most cases, if the unit is out of warranty and a inexpensive unit, it really isn't worth the cost to bring to a repair shop.

Today, you can purchase a Flat Screen TV for $100.00 the average repair cost will be that or close to it.

The T-CON (Timing Control) board on the panel is/has failed. If it is available, it can be replaced. If not, the entire panel will need to be replaced to correct the TV.

I have a Hitachi LCD 81cm TV that has developed a

Hello Matt,

The most likely cause is a failure of the TAB on the LCD panel inside the TV.

The only fix is too replace the LCD panel itself.

If it is under warranty then you should return it, if not, then you will have to replace the screen or live with it.

Unless you can find the screen cheaply you will find it is not cost effective to repair, just use it as a 2nd TV or a PC monitor.

Picture not centered on my philips 47'' lcd tv

NOTE:(Edited and copied from another thread on Fixya.com, c7carl)

Picture is not centered on monitor leaving a 2 1/2 inch; black border on Philips LCD
By dmorrow54 on Nov 13, 2007
Again, nothing in manual for Philips LCD will correct the fact that the picture in HD-D mode will not center. The picture runs off the monitor on the left (facing the monitor) with a 2 1/2" black border on the right (facing the monitor). Using the format button on the remote of directional arrows will not correct the issue. The wide-screen/ full-screen function with format does nothing. Moving into TV mode, the format function works to display screen in several ways 4:3, 19:2, super-zoom, wide-screen, full-screen. Help, please. posted 3 years ago

I have a Philips 30 inch LCD and solved the problem by using the circular arrow button on the TV remote. Pointing it at the TV and clicking "right" (3 o'clock on the button), the picture moved right. Same thing on for "left". Worked for me.

WOW! It works!! The picture on my Magnavox (aka Philips) 37MF321D had shifted to the right. I figured I had a big repair bill coming up soon. But hey! Just used the TV remote as described by "Guest', and re-centered the picture to the left. Wallah! Thanks ""Guest" whomever you are! Reply

On screen controls have a mind of their own

The buttons are stuck - If the screen is out of warranty then i would take it apart and see if he buttons can be unplugged or cleaned up.

If in warranty Samsung is excellent with repair service. - Depending on the model LCD its either 1 or 3 years warranty.
