Question about RCA HDLP50W151 50" Rear Projection HDTV
I was wondering if you had any idea as to what my be wrong with my television. For quiet some time, the television will be working fine, then all the sudden the picture freezes and the light where the power button is on the front of the television would start to flash, then the tv would power itself off, then a few moments later, the tv would power back on. That started happening probably six months after purchase. The tv is about 2 years old.. At any rate, the other day, my son turned on the tv after dinner, and there was no picture of any kind and a strange buzzing noise was coming from the tv, even when i tried to turn it off, it wouldn't. I had to completely unplug the tv. The tv hasn't worked since then. I was wondering if you had any clue. Thanks for your time.
The buzzing noise is the color wheel, the freezing picture is also the color wheel.
The retail price is around $200.00.
The Part Number: is 212184.
Best of luck

Buzzing is usually indicating the color wheel is defective. Or it could also be the lamp fan malfunctioning as well. My quess would be the color wheel as thats a fast moving part which is prone for bearing failure.
