I have a ADS-4P-BLK clock radio and was wondering if there is anyway to adjust the volume when the alarm clock goes off? The volume increases to about 20. Can this be adjusted so it isn't so loud? Also is there a way to adjust the length of time the snooze goes off? It currently goes off every 5 minutes. Does the backing light adjust? It is very bright!!

SOURCE: Centrios Atomic Desk Clock/Temperature

Here is how you adjust the time zone:
1.) push MODE till "AL" appears after the minute.
2.) tap "SET" (tap means push but do not hold) and time zone will advance.

3.) THE TRICK: The Time Zone can only be set in the Alarm Mode. Make sure you so not push and hold "SET" until the hour flashes as you would to set the alarm time. You just go into Alarm Mode and tap "SET" to advance the Time Zone by one zone per tap. When the Time Zone is where you want it, tap MODE to return to the clock and set the correct time.

These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

When the radio comes on at the set time, it starts very soft then blares enough to wake the dead. Certainly don't need an alarm clock with this thing.

THis is probably a 'feature'. Quiet start, so as not to startle you, increasing to make sure you wake. Try waiting for it to get loud and then adjust the volume that you require.

How do I change radio volume on the alarm?

This clock is supposed to have an automatically "increasing" volume feature (starts off low, gets louder over a minute or so).

If not sufficient, look on the top right side of the clock, there should be an up/down volume control. It is a black oval-shaped button with a picture of a sound speaker in the middle. Push it upward to increase volume and downward to decrease volume. Unfortunately, you have to have a flashlight or light on to see it because none of the controls are illuminated.

Alarm clock

The clock radio is mediocre, according to at least 15% of owners. First, the radio reception lacks clarity and the sound is tinny. Second, there are many small buttons and it's impossible to tell which is which in a dark room. Third, because the volume and radio tuner are adjusted by moving a dial, it is easy to accidentally move the device and turn down the volume as a result. This can be a problem if you've set the clock-radio alarm and the radio volume is too low.Kindly check these first.
