Question about Electrolux Washing Machines

1 Answer

I have an Electrolux EWD1477. I have been away for four months and I'm having problems with it. I set to do the quickwash30 program and press start, you hear the clicks, it might put some water in then again it might not. Then the timer goes back to 29 and the prewash, wash and spin lights all come back on and nothing happens. After about 8 times turning it off and starting again it may start the proper cycle. I've cleaned the detergent drawer, emptied and cleaned the drain. I'm stuck! Please can someone help.

My EWD1477 was doing this a year ago and I fixed it. Then it started doing it again a month ago and I seem to have cleared it again.

Firstly, remove the drain hose from where it is inserted into a laundry sink hole to make sure it is not blocked or sealed in with sludge.

Secondly, make sure the machine is empty of water and clothes and then turn the machine to off with the Program Selector Dial. Then turn off the power at the socket and remove the power plug and leave for five minutes.

Step 1: put the plug back in and turn the power back on.

Step 2: turn the selector switch to the right (Whites/Intensive). The green light of the Start/Pause button should be flashing and the green lights on for Prewash/wash, Rinses and Spinning. Don't press any other buttons or change any other settings.

Step 3: press the Start/Pause button and wait for the machine to empty any excess water. Press it again immediately after you hear water flowing into the machine OR two audible clicks. The machine is now in pause mode with the green light of the Start/Pause button flashing. Only the green light on the Prewash/Wash button should be on. Leave it in pause mode for 30 minutes and then press the Start/Pause button to recommence the cycle.

Step 4: If the Start/Pause button begins flashing, water stops flowing into the machine and the three green lights mentioned above are back on, turn the Program Selector Dial back to off, wait 10 seconds, and repeat the process above.

Step 5: If when you then turn the Program Selector Dial to Whites/Intensive and hear the two audible clicks, immediately press the Start/Pause button to set the machine in pause mode. Wait 30 minutes. Then press the Start/Pause button to recommence the cycle.

Hopefully the cycle will run without a problem.

I bought Electrolux Washer and Dryer Combo (EWD 1477) in 2007. It was working fine until recently the start button seem to stop after running for couple of minutes. The timer goes back to its initial time. I had a service man came in this morning and he said my combo needed a new heating element and it will cost me about $110. :o( I found out that I can get the element for $77 dollars. How many heating elements are in a combo model. The service centre staff was telling me that there is two different one and that they have quoted the right price.....Any help!

Take the kick panel off the bottom. There is a tech sheet in an envelope under the machine. IT will have everything that you need to do to troubleshoot the machine.

Electrolux front loader washer ewd1477 flashing start/pause button. interrupted during wash cycle by power outage. start/pause button now flashes and won't start any cycle.

Try to turn circuit breaker off, or unplug unit, for about 5-6 minutes. This is a hard reset and should reset the internal controls to restart the unit properly.

How can I reset my electrolux washing machine afer an E20 error?

turn the dial to off. Press and hold the start pause and the nearest option button. While you're holding them down, turn the dial one notch clockwise.
The machine will beep or flash, let go of the buttons. Release the buttons, then turn the dial slowly, stopping at each click until you get to "off". Now, turn to any setting, then turn to off.

Now, try the machine. If it works, I'm very happy. If not, perhaps someone else can help.
Good Luck

there is a auto switch button inside the indoor unit just above or on the side of digital display but you must open front panel to get access to it when you do, press that button which says auto once to cancell it from coming on than set your mode on the remote to heating then press start or on button on remote. be sure to set temp to atleast 30 degree before starting it

My Electrolux washer is only 6 months old and the drum has started squeaking. What could the problem be?

NOT Solution - I just bought one last week and it squeaked for me today. Sounded like a belt. As the washer added more water to the drum to soak the clothes, the squeak went away. So not sure if belt slightly out of alignment - hence it rubs or perhaps a roller knob needs adjustment is what I am thinking.

Changing water filter in Frigidaire fridge every 3 months

You should change out the water valve on your refrigerator. The filter shouldn't make any difference on the flow. We have parts and supplies for Electrolux, so call us with your model number and we'll be sure to get the correct water valve out to you right away!

Recorded message plays in Spanish. Husband threw the manual away.

Way too easy :-)

When you were listening to messages you probably pressed the SKIP button for longer than 2 seconds. Try pressing it and holding it again and see what happens.

Here's the manual link: http://www.home-electronics.net/ge/pc/IB/25942GE3_IB.pdf
