Need to replace low beam headlight bulb


Hello,

it's easier to change the light bulbs in this car than in a lot of other vehicles. The 2008 pontiac Grand Prix uses separate bulbs for low beams and high beams. The low beams are located on the outer edge of the headlight assemblies while the high beams are located on the inner edge of the assemblies.
To replace the low beam of the headlight bulb You will be in need of these instruments(Soft blanket or towel, Latex gloves, 9006 replacement headlight (low beam)), please follow the steps below:
  1. Open the hood to the 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix after making sure the headlight switch is in the off position, and the keys are not in the ignition.
  2. Approach the headlight assembly with the spent headlight in it, and locate the retaining bracket (white) holding the assembly to the frame rail of the Grand Prix.
  3. Lift the retaining bracket up about a quarter of an inch in order to align the notches of the bracket to the riveted tabs on the frame.
  4. Pull the assembly forward away from the front of the car starting with the inner corner of the assembly toward the grill. Keep in mind the wire harness connection is still attached to the assembly, so only pull it far enough to reach behind and disconnect the plug located at the bottom of the assembly.
  5. Place the headlight and bulbs assembly lens down onto a soft towel or blanket.
  6. Disconnect the respective low beam or high beam wire harness.
  7. Turn the plastic base of the headlight counterclockwise a quarter turn to align the retaining tabs with the release notches. Remove the headlight from the headlight assembly.
  8. Put on latex gloves before handling the replacement low beam or high beam headlight. Oil from skin will compromise the life of the headlights if it contacts the glass bulb.
  9. Insert the new bulb into the assembly by aligning the retaining notches to the release tabs, and then turn the base of the headlight 1/4 clockwise to lock it into the headlight assembly. Reconnect the harness to the headlight.
  10. Bring the assembly back to the Grand Prix and reconnect the main wire harness at the bottom of the assembly.
  11. Align the guide pins at the back of the assembly to the locating holes in the front frame rail starting with the outer guide pin first and the inner (toward the grill) guide pin last. Lift the assembly upward while pushing back on the lens to push down on the retaining bracket.
  12. Place the key in the ignition and turn the key to accessory power.

Bottom Bracket & Spindle Replacement of LeMond RevMaster


Part 1 Video Discussing the Dis-assembly & Inspection of the Bottom Bracket & Spindle for a LeMond RevMaster Bike

  • This Part 1 video will demonstrate how to inspect and adjust or remove and replace the bottom bracket and spindle on your Lemond Revmaster
  • Tools needed for this procedure:
    • 8mm Allen Wrench or Socket
    • Cotterless Crank Puller Tool
    • Lock Ring Removal Tool
    • Bottom Bracket Tool
    • Phillips Screwdriver
    • 4mm Allen Wrench
    • Bungee (optional)
    • Rubber Mallet
    • 7/8" Wrench
  • To begin remove the belt cover, there are four screws
    • You will need a 4MM Allen wrench
  • Now remove the two screws on the back from the opposite side of the bike
    • You will need a Phillips screwdriver
  • Now position the crank arm as seen in the video and remove the belt cover from the bike
  • Before removing the drive belt, tighten the brake assembly so that the flywheel is locked in place and loosen the torque on both bolts using an 8mm Allen wrench or socket
    • Do not remove them at this time only loosen them by a half a turn or so
  • Using a 7/8" wrench loosen the belt idler
  • Now use a 4mm Allen wrench to loosen the tension adjustment bolt completely, but do not remove it from the frame
  • Now remove the drive belt
    • To aid in this process you can use a bungee to slide in behind the belt at the top, as shown in the video
  • Then pull away from the bike while spinning the crank arms
  • Now remove both crank bolts with a 8MM Allen wrench or socket
    • Removal of the crank bolt on the left side of the bike is the same as removal from the right side
  • Now remove the crank arms with a crank arm puller, threading the outer portion into the crank arm as shown in the video
    • Be sure to thread the outer portion in as far as possible to prevent damage to the crank arm threads or the tools threads
    • Use a 7/8" wrench to make sure the outer portion is threaded in completely
    • Now spin the handle clockwise to press the crank arm off of the bike
    • Be careful when the crank arm comes off as if you are not holding it, it can fall in the floor
    • Also use the wrench to loosen the tool before removing the crank arm from the unit
    • Now you can unthread the tool from the cranks arm by hand after removing the crank arm from the bike
  • Next inspect the bottom bracket cups for looseness, to do this use the bottom bracket tool by hand to see if you can turn either of the bearing cups
    • To further verify the adjustment of your bottom bracket use a rubber mallet to tap lightly on each side of the spindle to check for movement from side to side, if you have movement, or one or both of the bearing cups is loose, you need to re-adjust the bottom bracket. If you are only inspecting the bottom bracket and did not find any need for adjustment you would re-assemble the bike at this point
  • Once the crank arms are removed look closely at the spindle
    • It should have defined edges and be smooth
  • As you can see by the video our spindle needs to be replaced
  • Next you will need to remove the lock ring
    • The lock ring is around the bottom bracket cup on the left side of the bike
      • In the video is an example of a lock ring
    • To use the lock ring tool you slip it over the lock ring using the three notches and torque the lock ring in the proper direction
      • This one needs to be turned counter-clockwise to loosen
    • Then remove the lock ring by spinning it off the bearing cup
  • Next you will need to use the bottom bracket tool to remove the bottom bracket cups
    • Begin with the left side
      • Slip the tool into the splines of the cup and loosen
        • For stubborn bottom brackets use a 5/16"-24 x 2" bolt and some washers with a 1-1/4" wrench
          • Slip the tool into the splines and thread the bolt with the washers into the spindle
          • Get it snug but not completely tight
      • Now use the wrench to turn the cup counter-clockwise for the left side and remove it completely
    • Remove the cup from the right side now
      • Slip the bottom bracket tool into the splines of the cup and turn it clockwise to loosen
        • For stubborn bottom brackets use a 5/16"-24 x 2" bolt and some washers with a 1-1/4" wrench
          • Slip the tool into the splines and thread the bolt with the washers into the spindle
    • If you cannot get the cups loose with this method try turning the bike on its side to get better leverage as shown in the video
  • This concludes the dis-assembly and inspection procedure of the LeMond RevMaster bottom bracket & spindle

Sun roof won't open, but i hear the motor turning


Check for any obstruction in the rail.

Power Sunroof - REMOVAL & INSTALLATION (click over pic for zoom)

Motor
See Figure 1
  1. Remove the sunroof switch panel by pushing it to the side and disengaging the pawl, then pulling it downward.

  1. Remove the sunroof switch bracket.
  2. Unplug the sunroof motor wiring harness connectors.
  3. Remove the sunroof motor mounting screws.
Disassembly of the sunroof motor is not recommended.

To install:

  1. Lightly lubricate the drive gear with grease and install the sunroof motor to the sunroof assembly.
  2. Plug in the electrical harness connectors to the sunroof motor.
  3. Operate the sunroof to verify proper operation.
  4. Install the sunroof switch bracket and the sunroof switch panel.

  1. Tilt up the sunroof lid.
  2. Remove the lid side trim.
  3. Remove the lid bolts and the lid assembly.
  4. Remove the rear drain mount screws and the drain.
  5. Remove the shade assembly holders from the sunroof frame.
  6. Remove the shade assembly.
  7. Remove the sunroof switch, interior accessories and headliner.
  8. Remove the switch bracket.
  9. Remove the motor assembly, spacer and clip.
  10. Remove the wind deflector mount holders from the sunroof frame.
  11. Remove the wind deflector.
  12. Disconnect the drain hose.
  13. Remove the sunroof brackets.
  14. Remove the sunroof frame assembly.
  15. Remove the link and wire assemblies.
To install:
  1. Tilt up the sunroof lid.
  2. Install the link and wire assemblies.
  3. Install the sunroof frame assembly.
  4. Install the sunroof brackets.
  5. Connect the drain hose.
  6. Install the wind deflector.
  7. Install the wind deflector mount holders on the sunroof frame.
  8. Install the motor assembly, spacer and clip.
  9. Install the switch bracket.
  10. Install the sunroof switch, interior accessories and headliner.
  11. Install the shade assembly.
  12. Install the shade assembly holders on the sunroof frame.
  13. Install the rear drain mount screws and the drain.
  14. Install the lid bolts and the lid assembly.
  15. Install the lid side trim.

Cant get the pins out of the crank brackets on the bottom of the crank. got the bolts out but there are pins on each side of the bolts. most engines have two more bolts on the outside edge but this one...


The bottom bracket is the dohickey that connects your two crank-arms together, and secures them within the bottom of the bike frame. The bottom bracket has threads around the outside that secure it into the hole in the frame. Inside, bearings surround a rotating spindle -- this lets the pedals turn free from the frame. Each side of the spindle has a mechanism to connect your crank. This may be square tapered bolts, a toothed ring (splined bottom bracket), or even a threaded bolt. The bottom bracket type must match the crank type (a crank with a square hole must be mounted on a BB with the square receiver).
Bottom brackets also come in different widths, and with different spindle widths: the bracket width should match the frame, and the spindle width should put the cranks out away from the frame, and allow the front derailleur to transfer the chain onto the smallest ring without hitting the bike frame. The BB will usually have its size printed on the cartridge, but you have to take it out to read the numbers. For example, a 68x116 bottom bracket is 58 mm wide as it fits into the frame, and the spindles are 116 mm apart. If you wanted the pedals a bit closer together, you might buy a 68x112.5 BB.
Sealed Bottom Bracket: If your bottom bracket is a sealed cartridge unit (as most are nowadays), it can't be serviced or adjusted. If it grinds, wobbles, or catches, it must be replaced as a unit. Just remove the old cartridge and replace the entire thing.
Take the chain off the chainrings, and lay it on the frame next to the bottom bracket. With the bike clamped in a workstand, shove the base of the crank-arms side-to-side to detect motion in the bottom bracket. Now try to pull the cranks away from, then back towards the bike to detect wobble. Turn the crank and listen for noises within the bottom bracket. These tests will help you identify a damaged bottom bracket.
To replace the bottom bracket, you have to do some major stripping! You must remove both the left crank and the right crank arm plus chainrings. See the crank section for additional information.

How to remova the transmission from a 96 chevy lumina


The engine must be supported from above the vehicle. Then the transmission and cradle support is lowered as a unit.
Procedure as follows.

  1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove air cleaner assembly.
  2. Disconnect electrical connectors at transaxle, then remove wiring harness retainer to transaxle shift cable bracket.
  3. Remove shift cable bracket and heat shield assembly, then wire cable/bracket assembly to body.
  4. Disconnect vacuum supply to modulator at transaxle, the remove transaxle indicator tube retaining bolt.
  5. Remove battery ground cable from grounding stud, then remove stud.
  6. Install suitable engine/transaxle support assembly, then raise and support vehicle.
  7. Remove both front wheels, then the frame retainers for front engine wiring and power steering cooler lines.
  8. Remove both tie rod ends from steering knuckles, then the steering gear heat shield.
  9. Remove steering gear to frame mounting bolts. Position gear clear of frame.
  10. Remove front engine mount to frame retaining nuts, then front and rear transaxle mount nuts.
  11. Disconnect lower ball joints from steering knuckles, then remove flywheel covers from engine and transaxle.
  12. Remove torque converter to flywheel, then the transaxle fluid pan.
  13. Disconnect transaxle cooler lines at transaxle and bracket.
  14. Remove both drive axles from transaxle. Secure axle to strut assembly.
  15. Disconnect speed sensor connector at transaxle, then support transaxle/frame assembly with transaxle table.
  16. Remove engine to transaxle bracket and bolts, then retaining bolts from transaxle to engine.
  17. Lower transaxle/frame assembly from vehicle, then the transaxle from frame.
  18. Reverse procedure to install.

here is how it works
first of all dont buy cheap things.im glad you bought this
here are the steps

Disconnect positive battery terminal.

Drain engine coolant.

Remove engine mounts (2) from van frame and flip them over backwards.

Remove the hood latch (leave cable connected)

Remove the two bars that connects the frame to the inside fender.

Remove the engine coolant overflow tank

remove air filter cover and filter and accordian hose

Remove upper and lower rad hoses

remove the two brackets that holds the rad

remove the two bolts that holds the fan assembly to the rad (one each end)

unplug fan plug

unhook lines from bracket at bottom of fan assembly.

remove fan assembly.

remove bolts from ac lines to condenser.

remove bracket that holds ac lines to rad (I think it's the rad)
lift rad upwards and away from frame enough to lift condenser out.

Cant find the fan relay for 2002 jeep cherokee


It lives under the right headlamp assembly. You can remove the front fascia and headlamp bracket to gain access, or you can just remove the right headlamp and use a hole saw to drill a hole in the bracket assembly. It is made of a hard plastic material and the relay is bolted to the fender area underneath.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION Spring Rear
Removal
  1. Position a hoist under the rear axle housing, and raise the vehicle. Refer to Section 00-02 . Place jackstands under frame side rails.
  1. Remove rear stabilizer bar as outlined.
  1. Disconnect the lower studs of the two shock absorbers from the mounting brackets on the rear axle assembly .
  1. Unsnap the RH parking brake rear cable and conduit (2A635) from RH upper arm retainer before lowering the rear axle assembly .
  1. Lower the hoist and axle housing until the rear springs are released.
  1. Remove rear spring and rear spring center mounting insulators (5741) from vehicle.

Shock Absorber Removal
Raise the vehicle on a hoist. 1. To assist in removing the upper attachment on shock absorbers using a plastic dust tube, place an open end wrench on the hex stamped into the dust tube's metal cap. For shock absorbers with a steel dust tube, simply grasp the tube to prevent stud rotation when loosening the retaining nut.
  1. Remove the shock absorber retaining nut, washer, and insulator assembly from the stud on the upper side of the frame. Discard nut. Compress the shock absorber to clear the hole in the frame, and remove the inner insulator and washer from the upper retaining stud.
  2. Remove the self-locking retaining nut, and disconnect the shock absorber lower stud from the mounting bracket on the rear axle tube.
  3. Perform Shock Absorber Checks. Refer to Section 04-00 to determine shock absorbers performance.
Installation
  1. Properly prime the new shock absorber . Refer to Section 04-00 , Shock Absorber Checks.
  1. Place the inner washer and rear spring insulator (5536) on the upper retaining stud, and position the shock absorber so that the upper retaining stud enters the hole in the frame. While holding the shock absorber in this position, install a new rear spring insulator , washer and nut assembly on the upper side of the upper frame. Be sure to seat the rear spring insulator in the frame attaching hole. Tighten nut to 34-46 Nm (25-34 lb-ft).
  1. Extend the shock absorber , and place the lower stud in the mounting bracket hole on the rear axle assembly housing. Install a new self-locking retaining nut. Tighten nut to 76.5-103.5 Nm (56-76 lb-ft).
  1. Lower vehicle.

  1. Remove and discard the lower arm pivot bolt and nut from the axle bracket. Then, disengage the rear suspension lower arm from the bracket.
  1. Remove and discard the pivot bolt and nut from the frame bracket, and remove the rear suspension lower arm .

  5. Remove and discard the nut and bolt retaining the rear suspension arm and bushing to the rear axle assembly housing. Disconnect the rear suspension arm and bushing from the housing.
  6. Remove and discard the nut and bolt that secures the rear suspension arm and bushing to the frame bracket, and remove the rear suspension arm and bushing . If upper arm rear bushing is to be replaced, use Suspension Bushing Service Set T79P-5638-A and Rear Axle Control Arm Bushing Tools T86P-5638-AH and the following procedure:
  7. Place the upper arm rear bushing remover tool in position, and pull bushing out. Using Suspension Bushing Service Set T79P-5638-A install bushing assembly into bushing ear of rear axle assembly.
