I HAVE A 2003 IMPALA -I REPLACED THE EGR AND THE COMPUTER -AND STILL THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND WHEN IM AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN WHEN I PRESS THE GAS TO TAKE OF IT HAS A SLOW HESITATION AND JUMPS THEN IT GOES WHAT CAN THIS BE-HELP SPENT SO MUCH MONEY ON PARTS I THINK I DIDNT NEED.

Hi Glenn, did you by chance replace your PCM with a used computer? If so you will need to have it reflashed, If not sounds to me like the Passkey security needs to be relearned. Also wondering why you replaced PCM after replacing EGR valve, Please if you can give me some more info on your veh. Body control module controls security so something is not right. Take it in, a blinking check engine light is not a good sign. Solid yellow is ok, blinking yellow or red is in need of service. Get the codes checked asap.
The code in the ECU might not have reset after you changed the EGR. Try unhooking the battery and let the car sit for a couple minutes and then hook it back up and see if the light goes away.
I suggest changing your egr valve. I have a 03 impala with the same problem and check engine light came on and through the code for the egr valve. they are 154 at autozone
A flashing light means there is a serious misfire that increases vehicle emissions, according to the dealer book. But I remember our was corrected after I changed the plugs and wires. That is the cheapest and problem the most commen solution. Then, I might try the EGR valve and gasket, still fairly inexpensive (under $100 for aftermarket, about $110 total for dealer part), and relatively simple to replace. One of those two should do the trick.
Wow, I just went through the same problem and guess what it was a clogged converter and a bad oxyegen sensor. The garaged fixed it up for me by putting an eco converter on it and a new O2 sensor. I have a 2003 Chevy Impala,V6 3.8 engine. Good Luck!!!!
