Three beeps repeating at startup, Foxconn P43A

I changed out my mainboard battery and when i start up the system it continually beeps 3 times and then a short pause repeating itself. the reason i have done this is that after assembling my new system, "core 2 duo, Foxconn p43a, corsair twin x 2gb, ez cool ps-05 and gtx 9800 xt i cant see an image on the monitor. though i think the problem lays on the graphics card and an incompatability issue the ez cool psu! what i want to know is what the beeps meen?

cheers, that didn't fix it unfortunately im afraid, now instead of the short beeps im getting -beep-----beep-beep beep. i was under the impression that the first beep was only the startup beep we all hear, i just hadnt let the computer run, switching it off for fear of the sytems health! Again this happened after i changed the battery im sure it has something to do with the connectors not touching the battery properly? thanyou for your help. very much appreciated.

i agree my research has also told me the only problem it could possibly be was the ram not seated properly!! as it turns out after taking it to my local rip off computer shop " its the gfx card wont function properly" tried an 8800 gt and it works perfectly!

thankyou for your help ppl, srry for being difficult!

Foxconn uses the Award bios. 3 bios beeps / repeating means there's a memory issue.
http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm
(Remove, clean & reseat).
Do not clean the DIMM's with an eraser. Use house hold alcohol.
Dripped onto a cotton swab & wipe the contacts off.
Clean the DIMM slot & reseat.
On the outside, if the 3 beeps repeat run a memory testing program. Click this link below, scroll down & under the three screen snapshots download you're flaviored software. One allows you to create a bootable floppy disk & one allows you ro create a bootable CD. Main site: http://www.memtest.org/

Download - Pre-Compiled package for Floppy (DOS - Win)
Download - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip)

You are correct, most PC's do sound off with one beep known as P.O.S.T. Power on self test. The beep's you described is related to memory not seated correctly.

Here's another chart for the Award bios beep defenitions link.

Foxconn warrants their boards for life, you can contact them through their web link.

I have a foxconn mobo model g31mv and has a problem with the video, well it shows nothing at all. Ive changed the memory, power supply, jumped the bios and check all the wiring and nothing. So.. what...

Hi,
Try this motherboard troubleshooting beeping code first.
No beeping means short circuit, loose parts.
One beep means everything is working good.
Two beeps means CMOS error.
One long beeps, two short beeps means video problem
Three long beeps means keyboard error.
Continuous long beeps means memory not detected.
Continuous Hi-Lo beeps means processor overheat, loose blower fan heat sink.

If no beeps need to change capacitor parts of motherboard for burn, short and open leakage.

Inspiron 531s will not boot up, keeps beeping, saying it is in power save mode. How do I fix the problem

System Beep Codes The Inspiron™ 531 / 531s system can emit a series of beeps during start-up if the display cannot show errors or problems. These series of beeps, called beep codes, identify various problems. One possible beep code consists of repetitive three short beeps. This beep code indicates the computer encountered a possible system board failure.
The series of beeps has a 3-second delay before it repeats. The series and delays continually loop until you press the power button.
Code Description Suggested Remedy 1 BIOS ROM checksum in progress or failure System board failure; covers BIOS corruption or ROM error 2 No memory modules detected
  1. If you have two or more memory modules installed, remove the modules, reinstall one module, and then restart the computer. If the computer starts normally, reinstall an additional module. Continue until you have identified a faulty module or reinstalled all modules without error.
  2. If available, install a good memory module of the same type into the computer.
  3. If the problem persists, contact Dell.
3 Chipset error (North and Southbridge chipset, DMA/IMR/Timer Error for Intel® platform); chipset error System board failure. Power LED is blinking amber. Time-Of-Day Clock test failure Gate A20 failure Super I/O chip failure Keyboard controller test failure 4 RAM read/write failure
  1. Ensure no special memory module/memory connector placement requirements exist.
  2. Verify the memory modules you are installing are compatible with the computer.
  3. If the problem persists, contact Dell.
5 Real time clock failure. Possible battery failure or system board failure.
  1. Replace the battery.
  2. If the problem persists, contact Dell.
6 Video BIOS test failure Video card failure 7 CPU cache test failure Processor failure

I have an Intel D945GCZ mainboard At startup I

This is a diagnostic beep code which is designed to tell you something is amiss with your system. The code patterns of short and long beeps are not fully standardized, so it depends on who manufactured the BIOS for your motherboard. Generally three long beeps indicates an issue with the base memory - the first 64K. Try putting your RAM sticks in one at a time and powering up the system. Make certain they are oriented correctly (note the notch) and firmly seated in the socket.
