Most CD players will have a very small hole you can fit a paper clip into and push it
in which releases the CD drive mechansim and starts opening the tray.
You may want to press the RESET button behind the faceplate first and see if rebooting
it will make it cooperate. If you dont have the detachable faceplate completely on
some of the symptons you describe could happen.

My Memorex Karaoke machine model # MKS2420NBL worked fine until I changed the CD now it won't play and the display just shows 2 lines like there is no CD in it. What happened?

You changed the player CD or the lens of the player . if you replaced the lenses check whether you attached the white ribbon data cable probably. at the same time check out whether is worn out .....

Goodmans micro 14671 turns off if function button pressed.

This definitely works-just done it. I pulled out the centre of a biro to get a thin plastic object. With the power on stick the plastic deep in the headphone hole and then push it in some more! Then I turned off the unit at the power button on the stereo itself. Voila-reset and listening to CD's now!

VHS won't work

Had the same problem on my JVC vcr/dvd combo unit.
You need to turn off the timer function. I did this by making sure my remote was in the "VHS" mode...turn the swith from TV to the right (found on the remote in the upper left corner...an then hit the "vcr" button. Then point the remote at the VCR unit and hit the No. 4 button (timer turns off). Your unit should not have the red timer displayed and you should be able to play your tapes okay.

Hope this helps.

How can we turn off the automatic start of Radio or CD setting?

The activating and deactivating of the 24 hour timer is via a toggle button, labeled "TIMER" on towards the right side of the top console. When the TIMER is activated, you will see a small clock symbol on the LCD display. While the unit is on, tap the TIMER button once. The clock symbol will disappear and the timer is now off.

Reactivating the timer is the same process (remember, the button is a toggle). Tap the TIMER button and you'll see the timer settings show up on the display (time on, time off, source, and volume). The little clock symbol appears again.

If you have lost your manual, you can download another one for free from this location:

Good luck!

Works sporadically

Sounds like your head unit is on it's way out, you could try cleaning the contacts of the face plate plate with rubbing alchol and a q-tip. Make sure you get both sets of contacts, the face and radio.Because the display is working it's definatly not a power problem, clean those contacts and if still doesn't work invest in a new radio, sorry to bear bad news if it's not the contacts. I have a pioneer DEH-P3000

Hi nhmteam. I have the solution for you: 1. With your DEH-P3000 turned off, press your FUNCtion button. It's a tiny button towards the upper right of the faceplate. Hold it down until you "ALARM OFF" or "ALARM ON" on the display. Release the button. 2. Press the FUNCtion button again and you should see another feature. I don't remember how many features you need to cycle through, but keep releasing and pressing the FUNCtion button until you see "M-CD ON" on the display. If you miss it just keep going and eventually it will come back. 3. On the right side of your faceplate there is a button with 4 arrows. You will need to push the up or down arrow until the display reads "M-CD OFF". If your display already reads "M-CD OFF", kip to the next step. 4. Press and release the FUNCtion button again and you should see "AUX OFF" on the display. Again press the up or down arrow until the display reads "AUX ON". 5. Now, turn on your unit, then press the INPUT button until the display reads "AUX". You are now ready to use your iPod in the way you always did. Keep these instructions for the future since I believe every time you disconnect the unit from the battery the unit will reset itself and disable your iPod cord. Best regards - TomR
