Hello Freymana,

I understand that you need to remove your ice maker located in the bottom of your Amana refridgerator. You will need a 1/4 nut driver.

1. Turn off the water to the Fridge
2. Unplug the wire connections toward the bottom and at the back of the ice maker
3. Loosen the two screws located located at the top of the unit about a quarter and three quarters away from the front.
4. Completely remove the screw located at the bottom of the unit in the piece of flat metal
5 Lift the unit off of the top two screws and pull forward
Put new one back the same way

You can order the new ice maker form Sears Parts Direct the part number is W10122533 at the following link http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Amana-Parts/Refrigerator-Parts/Model-AFI2538AEB13/1268/0161000/W0903071/00005?blt=06&prst=&shdMod

    Hello Freymana,

I understand know that you have the Amana French door fridge with the ice and water dispenser. The ice maker is in the upper left side of the fridge.

You will need to remove the ice bin with the auger attached to it. It also does have two screw located above the water reservoir at the front and rear of the unit that needs to be loosened and then it is pulled forward instead of up once that screws are loose. A picture of the ice maker is here at you can see the screw location on the ice maker in the diagram.

The price is $115.72 and is part #1 at the following link http://www.partselect.com/PartDetail.asp...

My model AFI2538AEW fridge control panel is stuck and I cannot select anything on it.

Can you unplug and replug it back in to reset compter? It might be easier to go to your circuit breaker box, vs pulling fridge out, and turn off fridge from there. That will cause it to reset. Here is the manual for it.

Ice maker not putting out ice

The ice maker has a bi -metal thermostat which makes a contact when reaches minus 10 C and energizes the motor and the heater to remove the ice from the mould and dispense into the bin. So check the bi-metal thermostat.

Will not make ice

I have a Samsung RF265AABP model. I had the same problem on several occasions. One time the problem was a broken temperature sensor wire on the ice maker. The sensor assembly often gets snagged on the ice tray or scoop or something and falls down, making it more likely to snag, and prevents the ice maker from cycling when frozen. It is quite easy to remove the ice maker once you get the drawer removed from the slides. It is held in place by two plastic clips located near the back of the slides. Pop the clips out, and then lift the drawer out. Pull the front plastic cover off the ice maker, then remove the two screws holding it to the top of the freezer compartment. Slide the icemaker assembly forward about 1/2 inch and it will drop down. Unplug the wiring connector and the ice maker assembly will drop right out. The temperature sensor is located in a flexible rubber like unit that holds the sensor against the plastic water tray. This whole assembly often falls out, and may be found mixed in with the ice.

I fabricated an aluminum bracket from angle stock to hold the temperature sensor assembly in place, and used a small tie wrap to hold the wire to the bracket, up and out of the way after soldering the broken wire of course. The tie wrap is not shown in the photos below. I drilled and countersunk two holes for the 4-40 screws holding the aluminum bracket. The temperature sensor is not shown in the photo, but the wire comes out the right side and crosses over to the left in front of the aluminum bracket.

My ice maker doesn't seem to be working... I pulled the fridge out to check that the lines were connected (and they are) & that there are no kinks in the lines ---- everything seems fine, but the...

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
The icemaker is 110v
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking or no water at icemaker or door either one, then the valve at the rear bottom of ref needs replacing
First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also if it is getting drinking water to the door but not to the icemaker (or vice versa) Then you need to replace
the water valve at the bottom rear of the fridge. It is a double valve and one side is not working
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath

We have an Amana AFI2538AEW we have had two techs. out already and we have replaced the fill valve. But still we have no ice. What happened is it started leaking water out of the fill cup in the ice...

There should be a float connected to this valve that tells the valve when to open and when to close it kinda works like the float valve in your toilet (check this float),as far as the water leaking out of the cup in the ice maker the float probably bad, Hope this works for u

Amana front load washer door locked with door open

To get the front off. (All screws look to be #2 Phillips Screws)
1. You have to unscrew (2) phillips screws from the back that holds the top on.
2. Slide the top off. (slide towards the back)
3. Then where the control panel is there is about 4-6 screws holding that plastic piece on, take those out this will allow you to pull the control panel up and out of the way.
4. At this point you can unscrew the 4-6 screws in the door area that holds the front of the washer on, once you unscrew those screws there is a tab that you have to lift the front over to pull the front off. This will allow you access to the locking mechanism.
5. There are only 2 screws holding te locking mechanism on.

Belt amana washer replace mod lw6501w2

I have a similar amana top load washer and just changed the belt. Here are the steps I used to change the belt:
1) Unplug the washer
2) Slide the washer away from the wall about 12"
3) Remove two screws from the bottom of the front panel, slide the front panel down (there are 2 metal tabs that slide into slots on the top of the front panel - observe how they slide into/out of the slots). Set the panel aside.
4) Remove the electrical connector (upper left of motor). Press down on the top of the plastic connector - this will undo the catch hook holding the connection in place). Observe how the belt is routed before proceeding.
5) Remove 4 bolts holding the motor in place. You can remove the motor - even with the water pump and hoses in place - they will flex.
6) Remove the water pump from the motor. There are 3 torx - head screws to remove. Note: You will need a star shaped (torx) head driver (Looks like a screwdriver but with a "star" head on it. The one I used measured just under 3/16 in diameter.
7) carefully remove the water pump. - remove the old belt from main pulley under washer drum and also from the water pump. Insert the new belt - be sure to put the tension pulley on the outside of the belt.
8) Reinstall the water pump to the motor. Reinstall the motor. Route the belt correctly in the water pump body area first - them slide the belt around the left side of the main drum pulley - rotate the pulley counter-clockwise and the pulley will tug the belt onto the pulley. Once in place - check bolts and belt - then reattach the electrical connector (remember to press the plastic lever on top of the plastic connector before sliding it in place). Reattach front panel - slide the top of the panel onto the metal tabs - then attach screws at the bottom.

Maytag mbf2258hew replace jazz board

bug, the jazz board is pretty easy to replace. The light cover will slide off toward the back. Now if you look behind the control panel you will see two slots. Take a flat blade screw driver and push the cover tabs in while pulling down on the cover. The cover will come down. Two slats slide in on the front and will release, disconnect the harnesses and install the new board. Reverse the process. Catriver.
