Question about Schwinn Cycling

Open Question

I just got a ladies schwinn point beach cruiser bike and was trying to adjust the seat height. I found it easier to adjust by taking the seat off but when I went to put the seat back on some parts fell out of the seat that I have no idea how to re-assemble to put the seat back on. I bought the bike assembled so do not have a manual.

SOURCE: I need to raise the height of my handle bars.

I am not sure which question to answer, so I will try both.

raising the handlebars, loosen the stem bolt 4or 5 turns, (this is the bolt on on the top of the handlebar stem). Tap the stem bolt with a hammer, the bold should drop down and the handle bars should fall loose, adjust as needed, then tighten the stem bolt to set.
Please note, there is usually a limit line on the stem, do not raise bars above this level as iy will make the handle bars unsafe and could pull out or break off.

second question, Child seats ar very adaptable, an will fit most bikes. Be sure to use all the necessary hard ware and safety guards. for you and your passenger.
Try to get the seat set up as low as possible as the higher the seat the higher the center of gravity. It will have less effect on handling characteristics if you keep the seat low.

I hope this is of some help.

SOURCE: 20'' Mongoose BMX - How can i adjust handlebar height?

You need to unscrew the circular nut like thing on the stem all the way off and pull up hard on the bars and it should come up, try spraying some lucricant on the stem to loosen it if needed.

SOURCE: Adjusting seat on a Women's Schwinn Jet Star 26" bike

It sounds like the bike you bought was too big for you. Your only option here is to replace the seatpost with one that does not have this feature. You can pick up a seatpost at a bicycle shop and they should install it for you, too, if they are a good shop.

Hope this helps a little,

How many ball bearings are there supposed to be on each side of the front axle of the Schwinn Point Beach model S4852WM bike?

There will always be a small gap in the bearing ring, and not all hubs take the same amount. However, if the balls are 3/16" there are almost always 10 on each side. If they are 1/4 inch (less common) then 9 is the correct amount. DO NOT replace only some of them - replace only in a full set of 20 or 18.

My brakes are dragging on my 7 speed Schwinn cruiser?

Possibly to tight, there is a adjustment either at the toop of the brake or at the brake lever, check to see if it can be loosen. Brakes don't just start dragging. Something has to change for this to occur. Brakes do wear, which limits the stopping of the bike. If there is no adjustment, I suggest taking to your local bike shop for assistance

What is the shape of the handle bars on the Schwinn High Timber Girl's bike?

These are certainly not racing style bars; but the modern, hybrid riser handlebar.

They will not sweep back toward the rider as much as a beach cruiser handlebar; but could be adjusted rearward to come closer to the rider. They definitely allow for a more upright riding position than many other handlebars though.10_19_2012_7_26_19_pm.jpg

Adjust handlebar height on Schwinn Varsity

I'm answering 7 years later. I have a Schwinn Varsity 2500 Bike made probably in 2015. The Schwinn Varsity Bike is not set up the same way as a traditional bike. I loosened the center compression bolt and the two side stem clamp bolts and it came loose where I can adjust it up or down but, there's nothing to tighten the slack up below. I did some research. My original post here was to add or remove a spacer. I think you can remove a spacer to lower but, I don't think the stem is long enough to add another one. I've seen they sell an extension that you can add-on to make the handle bars higher.

Just purchased a Ladies Schwinn "Sanctuaray" crauiser (I think It's a cruiser). Can't lower the seat. HELP!!!

Seats only go so low. Had you purchased the bike at a real Bicylce Shop they would have fitted it to you before sending you home with it.

Web search "adjust bicycle seat"

General bicycle manuals are usually available at the makers' websites. Hint: schwinnbikes.com

Web searches reveal many answers immediately.

Need to remove flat front tire on point beach bike what size is the bolt any hints?

Try an adjustable wrench. I think that the nut is 7/16th's or 1/2 (english units).

Use 2 adjustable wrenches to hold both sides.

How to remove a stuck seatpost located inside seat tube? It's a schwinn point beach women's 26 cruiser blue. It's new it just came today because i ordered it from online. And i accidentally put the...

the easiest way is to get a wire coat hanger, straighten it and bent the last 2" back on itself almost like the barb on a fishing hook or an arrow. push this into the seatpost and when it is inside, the end should "spring" back out, and catch on the narrower top of the seatpost allowing you to pull it back out. once out, you can just push the wire through the post to remove it.

hope this helps. if you need any further advice, please feel free to ask

Schwinn Trailway Aluminum Hybrid Shumano ladies bike - bought used no manual. help me set for normal use. Don't understand settings. Thanks.

What settings do you mean? The important adjustments are the seat height and position of the handlebars. You might mean the gear selectors, one will have 1-2-3 (or may 1-2) and the other will have 1-2-3-4-5-6 (or maybe up to 7 or just up to 5). These are meant for the rider to make changes while riding for going up or down hill or into a headwind, etc. If the bike is in good shape, you shouldn't have to set anything except maybe the seat height.
