c:\windows\system32\ cmd.exe

rightclick on it and select run as.

if its not working from there then in that case your system profile may be corrupted.In that case you need to reinstall windows.

are you using vista? xp? windows has a habit of blocking the nt drivers needed for scanning. i have found that ive had to get patches for almost all of the all in ones that i fix to test them. both on my xp network and my vista network

If you are connected with a skuz cable you have to turn the scanner on first and then the pc for the pc to see the scanner.
