Generally if when you turn on the computer and do not see the Dell Logo then about 90% of the time it is caused by a faulty LCD/inverter cable/video card
Try running the PSA diagnostics byt holding down the FN key before turning on the computer. if the computer starts generating a series of beeps it would mean that the LCD is not working and can be caused by a bad LCD or a faulty inverter cable.
Another way to test it would be to connect the computer to an external monitor.
