This appears to be an issue with the ISP's equipment and/or service provision. You will need to contact the ISP directly (the company that provides your internet/email functions) to report the problem and request that they correct it.

I can't get my LAN settings to automatically detect settings, box will not check.

Reset your proxy settings
Proxy servers, or proxies, act as intermediary servers between a Web browser and the Internet. According to Microsoft's website, proxies are mainly used by networks in companies to enhance the security and speed of their network connection.
Proxy servers can also be used to log Internet usage, mask the network address of a server or to apply global restrictions to a network.
Internet Explorer is set to automatically detect proxy servers by default.
You can reset the Internet Explorer proxy settings to their default settings from the "Internet Options" configuration.

I have found the easiest way to do this is to add the menu to the top of a webpage.
Create the menu tab on your homepage right click in the top toolbar you should see a number of toolbar options select the menu tab which will add File Edit View Favorites Tools and Help
Click on tools option then from the drop down list Internet Options
Select the "Connections" tab, and click the "LAN Settings" button.
Delete the proxy server address and port from the "Proxy Server" settings and clear the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" check box.

Clear the check box beside the "Automatically detect settings" and "Use automatic configuration script" options in the "Automatic Configuration" section of the "LAN Settings" dialog window. Click "OK."
Click "Apply" and then "OK" to save these changes and close the "Internet Options" dialog window.
Close all Internet Explorer browser windows for these changes to take effect.

Error81003005

See below
Hope this helps
Here's how I solve it:
1. Open your Internet Explorer
2. Go to Tools > Internet Options then click the Connections tab
3.Click the LAN Settings button and a new dialog box will open
4. At the new dialog box, look for the Proxy server checkbox, if this is checked, uncheck it.
5. Then your done, click OK button for the dialog boxes.
6. Try logging in to your Yahoo Messenger account.
My solution is good only if you have set your proxy server previously in your Internet Explorer. I've noticed this behaviour since in our school, I need to set the proxy server to access the internet. But at home, I don't need to. So when I am at home, this is the normal situation I encounter when I forget to unset back the proxy settings.
On the other hand, the other way around should work. What I mean here is, if you connect to a network that has a proxy server, you need to setup the proxy settings in order for you to use their internet services. Thus, access to yahoo could be established.
[Solution #2]
One area to look also if the proxy is not the one causing the problem, you can check if you have your DNS Server address(es) set, which - in case you have changed your network, can't be accessible to the new network. Thus, it can cause this error.
So, you may unset the DNS Servers (Go to Network Properties >> General Tab >> TCP/IP Properties >> General Tab > Obtain DNS Server address automatically) and try logging in your YM.
[Solution #3]
If the above solutions does not go well, this last one might be the savior. Instead of constantly banging your heads with those re-logins and reconfigurations, you can track back your YM version and replace it with an old version instead. I did this and it works for me well. I had before a version 9 Yahoo Messenger and when I replace it with a version 8, the problem was solved. This should be your last resort if the previous won't work. Remember also to be patient. If it bugs you, don't bug down... bug up!

Proxy Server Refused Connection Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections. ...

If you're using Firefox, click on "Tools" at the top of the page, click on "Options" which is at the bottom of the list that comes up, then click Advanced, choose Network from the four tabs below that. There should be a sentence "configure how Firefox connects to the Internet". Click on the button next to it that says "settings". and make sure that "Auto-detect proxy settings for this network" has a dot in the little circle. If not, click on it and click on OK.
You may have to shut down Firefox (your internet browser programme), then try getting in again. Should have sorted it.

Errors found:Code 8024402C Windows can't check for updates

Description:
The 0×8024402C error code occurs because an incorrect character exists in the proxy override settings.
Possible Cause/s:
1. Incorrect character exists in the proxy override settings.
2. A misconfigured Proxy/Firewall can cause this problem.
3. You are trying to access Windows Update using VPN. The website and Automatic Update may not function properly.
4. The corporate environment does not have autoproxy implemented.
5. Your workstations sits behind a Microsoft ISA server.
Resolution 1:
Remove invalid characters from the proxy exception list and then clear the proxy cache:
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools, select Internet Options.
3. Click on the Connections tab.
4. Click on the LAN Settings.
5. Click on the Advanced button.
6. Please delete any entry in the Exceptions section.
Next, clear your proxy cache:
1. Click on Start, and then click Run.
2. Type cmd in the Open box to get a DOS prompt.
3. Type proxycfg -d at the command prompt, and press Enter.
4. Type net stop wuauserv at the command prompt, and press Enter.
5. Type net start wuauserv at the command prompt, and press Enter.

Resolution 2:
Reconfigure or update your firewall program:
1. Double-check the Proxy/Firewall settings. Add the following urls to the exception list within your Firewall/Proxy:
http://*.windowsupdate.microsoft.com
https://*.windowsupdate.microsoft.com
http://download.windowsupdate.com
Resolution 3:
VPN and Proxy.
You are trying to access Windows Update using VPN. The website and Automatic Update may not function properly.
Autoproxy is not picking up the wpad.dat proxy configuration file to determine the proxy to be used for the target URL. Thus we are going with no proxy!
1. Try to access Windows Update while not using VPN connection.
2. Use the proxycfg tool to specify a proxy server to use (proxycfg.exe -p <proxy server>). (contact your network administrator to find out the name and port of this proxy.)

Please take the time to rate this Fixya for me for spending an hour researching every possible cause and solution for this code you posted for free, even if you don't figure it out.
