Question about Mitsubishi WS-55313 55" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

I have a Mitsubishi WS-55313 that needs to warm up for a few minutes. Their are lines across the screen until the tv warms up. Once it is warm the picture is a little dark. Any idea what is wrong. Is it a bulb issue? I also need a new diamond screen

Hi:
The lines across the screen may indicate one of the picture tubes are or going faulty, depending on what color the lnes are on the screen, The slow start is bad capacitors in the digital control board module inside the set, there is a power supply module inside the metal canaister with bad caps on the board about 6-8 of them needs replacing the value to replace them with is 680uf rated at 16volts. The screen is probably no longer avaiable for purchase any more as well as the picture tubes. If any of the picture tubes fail then I suggest its time to purchase a new more modern television.

Pink lines can mean many things, what does the set look like if you take it in the customer menu and select convergence and then advanced?

My 55313 mitsubishi power light comes on then turns back off.

I'm not the original poster, but I have the same problem. I've looked through a lot of solutions on this site, but this is the only one that matches the issue and model number exactly.

Here is some additional information:

I've checked for blown fuses. On PCB-MAIN board, fuse F9B01 was open. A capacitor right next to it was very slightly bulging. I replaced the fuse and the cap, and also replaced the convergence IC's, since those seem to be common failures, I was already in there, and the TV had an issue when it first powered up of faint dark "Squiggly" lines that faded as the set warmed up, usually becoming completely gone in two minutes or so...

Anyway, after replacing those items, the set still does the same thing. Powers up, then shuts off after a couple seconds. The test mode shows 2 flashes, pause, 2 flashes.

I have not noticed any other obviously bad components (No smoked items), and all the remaing fuses are good. The one that I replaced is still good. I'm not sure what took it out to begin with, but it's obviously something that's still bad. :-)

Any help would be appreciated!

WS-55313 55in. Stored in cold garage fo two days will not power up in warm house. What next?

Leave it unplugged and let it sit for atleast 6 to 8 hours to become at room temp..Do not try to turn on anymore to where it could blow the bulb. After its sat that long atleast plug it in and enjoy..There is a protection relay in the tv to protect the bulb.Hope this helps you and have a great day

Hi my name is Roety,
I can help you with your issue ,
Most likey you need the convergence ICs replaced.
A repairman would charge about $350 to replace them
Voltage checks and a visual would be needed to determine exactly what is bad in your TV

Cycling by itself

Pressed the ff on the tv remote...Menu 0370...be careful in selecting an option...have to make sure that what you are going to highlight or select is initial..selecting E2 reset would render your tv unusable..don't attemp to make any other changes on the service menu...JUST SELECT INITIAL..no other option should be selected on the service menu screen.
