What is a invalid file format

This may indicate that the file extension is not recognizable.this may be a flac or orb file instead of the usual file formats associated with audio codecs these will need to converted into mp3 or wav etc. by using an audio convertor program...freeware can be found online.if your media plays only mp3 and you try playing different file extension you will get error.so you need to convert all your music into mp3.Itunes has a built in cd ripper to convert into most formats.

I cant play my music from my windows media player,, An audio codec is needed to play this file. To determine if this codec is available to download from the Web, click Web Help. how can i solve it.

Windows Media Player although is nice graphically it is resource draining for your computer. You can purchase the codecs from them which rather shocked me that Microsoft would even charge for the codecs for people to use their beloved software that comes with their Windows purchase which in my opinion is rather expensive to begin with. So what most of us do these days is get the free codec files which play movies and other files that Media player will not allow you to do. You can obtain them here for no cost whatsoever. Click Me
Now I usually get the mega packs this covers all of them really I also suggest using the VLC player as an alternative to Windows Media Player it is not as pretty but who cares it plays those hard to play files that are not allowed even when had from a torrent or other methods of retrieval even if the files are protected you can still play them using VLC media player. Now do not start downloading a ton of media players that offer the same stuff you will run into problems with players if you have several of them loaded. Dump the ones except Microsoft Windows Media Player it is a part of Windows software. Just go in and pick this as your default player. I hope this assisted you. John

My Hp pavilion f1503 will not play music, on limewire the internet or anything. Any media file will just not even start to play, even after it is done buffering. The computer is not registering the stock...

You can check the sound settings in the control panel and see if the audio device is configured properly. Default device selection, volume level, etc.
If that is all okay, consider reinstalling your audio driver, or the audio codecs (something like the K-Lite codec pack).

No audio

Your machine should use the Realtek HD codecs or the AC97 codecs. Should the AC97 HD codecs not work try the standard codecs. Windows update can sometimes create the problem you're experiencing - a reinstall should do the trick.

Media players do not play sounds

Ah yes, the bane of multimedia files and codecs. First thing you need to do is download Gspot. Drop the file into Gspot and identify exactly what the audio codec is. Once you do that, then you can download it. Careful though, you can get viruses or get otherwise currupted/inoperable codecs if you don't get the right ones.
