You can try downloading VLC MEDIA PLAYER for free from WWW.CNET.COM and installing it on your computer. It believe it should have no problem playing that type of file (.VOC). You can read about the program, check out other user's reviews and download it free if you want at the following direct link to the CNET free download page:

http://download.cnet.com/VLC-Media-Player/3000-13632_4-10267151.html?tag=main;productListing

Just click on the big DOWNLOAD NOW (19.42 MB) button on the left hand side of the page when you get there, and then follow the onscreen instructions.

Good luck, hope this helps

If you still have the files saved on your computer, then you have several options.

You can convert them to something more compatible like MP3 online for free at the following site:

http://www.mediaconverter.org/

Just upload your file to the site and choose the applicable formats for conversion and then a short time later you can download them back to your machine in whatever format you chose.

Or, you can just download VLC MEDIA PLAYER for free from WWW.CNET.COM and install it on your computer. It should have no problem playing that type of file. Your best bet is to play the recordings through the headphone connector to a pc audio line-in connector and capture the audio using something like Audacity. Then output them using audacity to mp3 to play on your mp3 player.

These units are notorious for their failing USB feature.

The Thomson voice recorders appear to be the same as those of an RCA series. There is a software download for a 512MB RCA VR5220 recorder that might work on your 64MB one at http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/audio/voicerecorders/?sku=VR5220, or you might find something useful elsewhere on the rca site.
