My cable company disconnected my model av-36d502 tv and when they reconnected the cable box there was no color do I need the remote to remedy this problem because I don't have it

If you are using a box unplug it and plug it back to let it boot up--if not have them back to verify the hookup etc is correct---they should without being asked also swap the box if used for another box.

Have colored lines at bottom of tv

Hello!
First: disconnect any signal source from your TV, including cable. Unplug TV off the wall or power strip. Let it sit for a minute or two. Plug power back in. TV might turn on itself, might not. Depends on configuration. Turn it on manually, using set's "power" button. Observe the behavior. Lines? TV need repair! Not an armature job. Lines gone? start to connect signal sources back, starting with cable. Observe the picture. No lines? Proceed to the next source: DVD player, and so on. At some point lines might return. Make note, what source causes the problem. Then, you may know what to do next.
good luck,
Alex.

My Whafedale WH-AV4337 remote switches the unit on and off but will no longer feed the TV sound to my speakers. The AV (Digi) flashes "unlock". I don't have a user's manual. Any...

Hmm, I don't know why the emphasis is in the remote here.

Front panel switches still exist on most products so ramble across the room and try touching it with your finger so we don't have to factor in a possible remote malfunction.

I can't locate a free manual anywhere but YOU should contact Wharfedale and ask them where you could get one because the website only lists a handful of speaker downloads.

http://www.wharfedale.co.uk/Home/tabid/37/Default.aspx

However the digital audio for the "AV" is arriving, it is probably not syncing up or the signal / cable is failing or disconnected. Try swapping with known good cables or input jacks.

There is a black line across the middle of our picture on our Panasonic 50 inch plasma TV. Do you know what is causing this and how we can fix it?

1 of 2 things can be wrong. Bad panel, or a ribbon cable that needs to be reseated.

1. take a piece of tape and stick it where the line is. So you will know what cable you are looking at.
2. unplug the TV
3. Take the back off of the TV
4. If you look at the far left side of the set, you will see a whole row of ribbon cables. Find the one that is in the same location as your piece of tape.
5.Disconnect the ribbon cable. This is done by simply flipping the connector up and sliding the cable out.
6. Put the cable back in. Make sure it is straight and all the way in, then push the connector back
7. Reassemble your set, plug in and see if the line went away. If it did, great!!! If not, you have a bad panel.
The only fix then would be to replace your panel. Would be more cost effective to replace your TV.

Cant get digital channal on my DCP 501

From page 24 of the Installation Section

The clear protective film on the DCP501 display must be removed and transferred to the inside back cover of your
DCP501 Home Theater System User Guide. The Unit Address and Serial Number found on the protective film is
required for activation of your DCP501 cable TV receiver by your cable TV service provider.

On Page 28 -

Do not disconnect the cable connection between the RF In and To RF In ports. Removal of this
cable could disrupt operation of the DCP501.

IMPORTANT! The digital cable feature of your Motorola DCP501 can be activated only in
certain cable systems throughout North America. Contact your local cable TV provider to
determine whether the digital cable feature of your Motorola DCP501 can be activated. In cable
systems where the digital cable feature cannot be activated, you may connect an external cable
receiver provided by your local cable provider. For best results, connect an external cable
receiver through the audio and video inputs on the back of your DCP501.

Using DCP501 Cab le TV Functions
The DCP501 has an advanced CATV set-top terminal that allows you to view cable channels.
The DCP501 must be authorized for cable TV operation by your cable TV operator before it will
tune channels.
To use your DCP501 to view cable channels:
1 Press SOURCE to display C ATV on your TV. C A TV and the last channel tuned are displayed
on the DCP501 display.
2 Press MENU to display the TV program guide on your TV.
3 Press GUIDE to display the television program guide on your TV.
4 Change channels by pressing CHANNEL/PRESET or making your selection with the
program guide on your TV.
If you receive an electronic message from the cable operator, the message icon turns on.
You must use the TV program guide to retrieve an electronic message.
Additional DCP501 cable TV functions include CATV Record and CATV Channel Scan.

If you don't have the manual go to:
http://www.retrevo.com/support/Motorola-DCP501-Receivers-manual/id/393bh936/t/2/ and register to get it. It's free.

Insignia ns32lcd no picture just lots of vertical colored lines

Usually this problem is caused by the connections for the LCD Controller(TCON). If you disconnect and re-connect the cable until it works correctly it will usually solve this problem.

Techwood 42inch plasma

black line probl;em with this model is caused by dry joints on the resistors that are attached to the individual ribbon cables. a fairly easy fault to repair. but it means undoing all the screws and resoldering the resistors. once the back of the tv is off, locate the offending resistors and resolder them,Take the two screws that hold the ribbon cable assembly and gently lift out the ribbon cable. just use a hot enough soldering iron (mains or portable gas) and watch the solder 'flow' attach the ribbon cable. if you're careful, you can test to see if the fault has been repaired prior top replacing the cover. (make sure there's no pets or children nearby and be very carfeul as there's live mains within reach. once you're happy the fault has been repaired, put the cover back on. Its worth resoldering all the resistors just to save the fauklt reoccaring anywhere else. dominic :-)

JVC TV 27" Black line on top of screen

This is for the original problem.. Not the second post.

It's a problem in the horizontal deflection circuit. The parts will be available, but you will be in for some daignostic repairs also to find out why it failing or if it has failed on it's own.
There should be a few caps near the IC (an LA7840) that could also be causing the problem. Click the link, it will make it easier to locate the part inside.

This is the kind of repair best left to a TV tech, but get it done now and it won't cost anywhere near as much as it will later.
