Vibration issue - DEGX1

I have a 3 year old FP DEGX1 that has a horrible, house shaking vibration. Do you have any ideas about what might be causing this before I take it apart?

Thanks

Yes, and no.... Would be nice to know if an exploded diagram is available so that I can repair it myself! Cost of parts, w/shipment is only $68, and I am handy.... and not interested in a $50+ service call. So.... I'll just unplug it, take off the top, unscrew the inside bearing shaft, release the belt, release the left side clamp, and lift it out, then replace the bearing.. or.... something close... Ha! The wife will be happy, and I can get to be "her hero!"...

You need a new bearing. if you lift the lid is going to be on the right side in the middle. and its not fun to replace so i would have a factory authorized company come out and do it. if you try to do it you might damage your drum and have to replace it as well. have fun. call f&p and they might cover the parts cost for you

can be caused by a broken counter balance spring. Ur washer may be equipped with one or more counter balance springs which help to absorb the natural movement of the spinning tub. If a counter balance spring fails the tub might lean in one direction more than another and it will shake and cause vibration.

What is cause of loud vibration noise

Hi,
In most cases, vibration sounds come from which ever helps the drum to spin with no resistance, In most cases those would be drum support wheels or bearings depending on the model.
In some rare cases, blower or belt pulley could also cause similar symptoms.

Why does my gas dryer make a loud vibration noise?

Hey friend, I appreciate your post!

I understand that your Electrolux gas dryer is making a loud vibration noise and is also loud while tumbling. There are several components in your dryer that could be causing this noise. Based off what you are describing it might be an issue with your suspension rollers, motor, or pulley. Since it could be any of these underlying issues I would suggest getting a technician out to diagnosis and repair your dryer. Hope this is helpful. - Matt

Frigidaire electric dryer front load . Bad vibration

Good Afternoon David,

I understand you are receiving a bad motor vibration on your Frigidaire dryer. I see that you replaced the fins on the blower, only to have them break again. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine what is causing the vibration noise, as well as the blower fins to break. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

My dryer is vibrating terribly. Still dries but shakes so bad. I don't know what to do.

you probably have a failed blower. unplug the dryer. remove the door [several phillips screws on top and bottom door hinge / remove the phillips scres over on the other side of the front [where the door would go if reversed / tilt front of dryer towards you / you should have enough wire on the door switch to angle it away from the front / remove the tub front support [4 5/16" screws hold it in place] that supports the tub / remove the front cover from the motor blower housing [6 or7 or so 1/4" screws / blower will be visible / see if it is loose on the motor shaft by trying to spin it /
OR
front and or rear drum bearings are worn, but that is not likely to cause a vibration]

I have a Zanussi TD 301 Tumble dryer which is making an ntermittant deep rumble sound

Hi.

I have come across this a few times. From memory (as this appliance is now a few years old) there is a fan that connects to the end of the motor. this fan draws air through the filter and exits through the vent hose.
The blades of the fan sometimes crack and as it heats up it rubbs in its housing causing a vibration.

Its not too difficult a job to replace .

if you do a search online then you may be able to locate the part.

If you need help with locating the part or repair procedure please email me on aardvark.repairs@btinternet.com

Loud rumble sound, Vent hose vibration

That model of neptune dryer had a problem with the blower housings cracking. When the housing cracks, it binds forward into the blower wheel making a loud "rumble" noise and vibration. If you open the door and manually turn the drum and you hear a rubbing noise and feel alot of resistance, then you have a cracked blower housing and need to replace it. It is not an easy job to replace, so if your not familiar with dryers, you should have a technician replace it. Let me know if you have any further questions. shane
