Vibration issue - DEGX1

I have a 3 year old FP DEGX1 that has a horrible, house shaking vibration. Do you have any ideas about what might be causing this before I take it apart?

Yes, and no.... Would be nice to know if an exploded diagram is available so that I can repair it myself! Cost of parts, w/shipment is only $68, and I am handy.... and not interested in a $50+ service call. So.... I'll just unplug it, take off the top, unscrew the inside bearing shaft, release the belt, release the left side clamp, and lift it out, then replace the bearing.. or.... something close... Ha! The wife will be happy, and I can get to be "her hero!"...

You need a new bearing. if you lift the lid is going to be on the right side in the middle. and its not fun to replace so i would have a factory authorized company come out and do it. if you try to do it you might damage your drum and have to replace it as well. have fun. call f&p and they might cover the parts cost for you

If your car is shaking while it's on but not actually moving, then it's likely not the tires. This usually means there is something broken in the engine, such as the radiator fan or engine mounts. Fuel system issues can also cause the car to shake even while standing still.

700r4 transmisson vibration in 1st and 2nd gears

this is probably a bad u-joint(s) crawl under the truck engine off and in park and on a flat spot, twist the drive shaft if it clunks at all or has some up down or left right slop the joints are shot and will need replacing. And yes the u-joints will cause a drive line vibration that seems like a transmission issue it goes away with speed as the shaft will spin fast enough the vibration will become only a hum.

Excessive vibration on my Dyna

17 years is a long time for engine rubbers on a v twin. But if the vibration is only in the handlebars, you might want to fit some heavier handlebar end weights. They are there to absorb vibration(they act as dampers.) But, if the vibration is in the engine, it may be worth checking the ignition timing. On a Big V the ignition only needs to be out by a small amount to set up a noticeable vibration.

Vibration at 70 MPH.

Warped or out-of balance brake rotor? Also keep in mind that loose rear differential trailing arms that allow the rear differential to squirm around can also cause steering wheel shake.

Loud fan air conditioning

I assume this noise is there regardless if in A/C mode or heat? I had a similiar issue in my 01 camry. Speed 1 was ok speed to you could hear a difference speeds three an four sounded like it was going to shake my dash apart. Of course it could be possible some kind of object has fallen through a vent causing the fan to rotate off balance. However, in my situation a mouse had got in the heater fan and built a nest overnight. This created the loud horrible vibration in my unit. If something is not causing it to be off balance it probably isnt going to last much longer. I think it could only be the bearings in motor housing going bad or are already bad. Hope this helps.

Whynter Portable Air Conditioner Model: ARC-14S. Problem: It sounded as if something fell inside the unit while it was operating (cooling) then it started to vibrate horribly. The vibration is only...

Hi,Whynter Portable Air Conditioner has many moving parts, and they all make noise and cause vibrations. Some of these parts are more likely to causing shaking and loud noises, and sometimes this signals a larger problem, something to watch and scrutinize. If serious enough, it calls for a repair.

Loose Parts

Loose parts cause the majority of shaking and vibration noises in your air conditioner. A few of the most common loose parts include the air compressor, the piston rods and even the fan or blower unit itself. These noises are clunking, clanking sounds that occur along with a vibrating action. The only method of repair is a complete compressor replacement, which is a repair only a certified air conditioner technician is qualified to make. The compressor is a fully sealed component, so individual parts in the compressor cannot be repaired.

Fan Blades

Fan blades cause noise, shaking and vibrations even when properly secured. If fan blades contact the exterior structure of the air conditioner due to a bent fan blade or broken and misaligned grate, a constant, repetitive noise and vibration results, which sounds like a ticking or banging from the interior of the air conditioner. Vibration in this case is limited but still present.

Mounting Brackets

When an air conditioner shakes, there is a problem with the mounting brackets. These brackets hold the air conditioner compressor steady as it operates. Normal vibrations and shaking would otherwise occur without these brackets. A loose mounting bracket causes the air conditioner to rock back and forth and creates a clanking sound. As the compressor starts up, this rocking and clanking sound begins, resulting in a very loud and fast vibration and noise. It also occurs when the unit shuts down.

Other Sounds and Vibrations

Sometimes air conditioners squeal, hiss, hum or screech. Each noise is often accompanied by a vibration. Humming sounds along with a vibration may indicate a bad capacitor, the electrical part responsible for starting the machine. Hissing sounds tend to indicate a pressure problem while screeching and squealing sounds are fairly common in window air conditioners and in central air conditioners. This sound is also a result of the compressor motor. It usually starts when the unit turns on and continues through its normal operating cycle. Vibrations always occur in the air conditioner due to moving parts and the compressor motor's operation.

Hope it helped..

Ford super duty vibration/shake

The carrier bearing should not move at all. It is mounted in rubber to give a little. But, it should not move freely. If this is the case then something has gone bad. The carrier bearing would cause this vibration as it spins if it is loose.
