Requesting Help In Accessing Back Panel Of Elite To Change Controller Assembly

Hi,

I recently encountered the same "Er dh" error messag on my Kenmore Elite and ordered in the controller assembly that was mentioned in a previous thread on this subject. However, I'm somewhat puzzled on how to best access the back freezer panel to change the part out after trying for a while.

I loosened both siderails' screws (total of six) but the rails don't separate from the sides and there's two crossbars running the width of the freezer holding up a divider that's tight up against the top of the bottom freezer so the whole assemble seems unmovable. I removed the lone screw on the top middle area of the back panel and that loosened th panel to some extent but it hits against the back edge of the divider mentioned above and doesn't move much forward.

I can see that I have to remove the crossbars and attached divider that helps to separate and hold the two freezer pullout compartments, but when I try to push open their locking clips and pop thm out, things are very tight and I don't have the clearance above the divider to successfully remove the assembly.

I'm wondering if you can contact me at 425-868-1220 (hm.) or email me your phone number so we can discuss details on how you were able to accomplish this fix.

Thanks for your help in this matter.

Regards,
Melvin.

The Er DH error code indicates the temperature sensor on the evaporator coil did not reach 50 degrees within one hour.
This would indicate the control board did put the refrigerator through a defrost cycle.

This problem could be caused by a defective relay on the control board, a defective defrost heater, a broken wire to the heater, or a stopped up drain on the defrost pan causing ice to form on the evaporator coil.

Before replacing the control board, someone should remove the food from the freezer, remove the freezer drawer, and remove the evaporator cover to expose the evaporator coil, heater, and defrost sensor.
The voltage to the defrost heater should be 120 volts ac.
The defrost heater is part of the evaporator coil and is not replaceable as a separate part.

You can test the operation of the defrost system by pressing "Ultra Ice" and "colder freezer temp" for 3 seconds.
The first time you press and hold the buttons the board will test the compressor, fan, and open the damper.

All displays should be on.

The second time you press and hold the buttons the board will test the compressor, fan, and close the damper.

The third time you press and hold the buttons, the board will turn the compressor and fan off and turn the defrost heater on for around 25 minutes. This would let you know if the defrost system is working.

I had the same ER DH error code, and my refrigerator began to warm up. I replaced the defrost thermostat assembly part # 6615JB2005H which is located inside the freezer, on the right side behind the white plastic panel. I accessed it by removing the freezer door, all components inside the freezer, and the tracks mounted on the sides of the freezer. Be careful when removing the white panel because a fan is mounted to the left side of the white panel and plugs into the back left side of the freezer compartment.
Found the green technical data sheets under the refrigerator in a small plastic bag near the front.

Kenmore Elite Trio Error Message ER DH

This is a refrigerator manufactured by LG and is well known for this type of malfunction. There should be two 1/4 inch screws on the outside of the freezer drawer tracks near the front that will allow you to pull out the entire door assembly. Once this is done and the unit is fully defrosted and unplugged, there are a couple/few screws in the back freezer panel. Once the panel is removed, this part is located on the upper right side of the evaperator coils. It is sometimes wedged in tigtly but should pull out with a good tug. Unplug the white harness, remove defective part and reverse this process. Good luck and happy shopping for the shoes.

Kenmore 795.7731 Fridge warm;freezer cold - Error er dH

I faced the same problem for Kenmore elite Trio Model # 795.77543600 bottom freezer refrigerator. The issue as pointed out by Medeer on fixya.com, turned out to be the part called component assembly, part number 6615JB2005H. I got this replaced yesterday but for 4 hours I did not notice any cooling... so I thought it did not work.... but then in the morning I notice that the issue has been resolved, the refrigerator is cold and there is no eR dH error message. Thanks to all who shared on this site.
