You can re-enable your wireless card through the Device Manager window.
Hold Alt and double click on the My Computer icon on your desktop. Select Device Manager and then scroll down the list until you find your wireless card. It should be listed under Network Adapters. Right click on and it select Enable. That should bring your wireless back up.

Lost my wi-fi on my toshiba l455

It's common that the switch that enables/disables wifi gets hit accidentally. I believe, on your model, that pressing the Function Key (Fn) and the F8 key simultaneously is the way to turn wifi on and off.

Restore FN + F8 key to reactivate Wi-Fi on Toshiba Satellite L500

Hi,
My laptop didnt enable the wifi with the fn+f8 key.
I even reset the cmos and nothing.
Then I went to toshiba drivers website and after installing the "thku" "toshiba hotkey utility" the fn+f8 start working and enable/disable the wifi. It now shows a popup windows when I press the fn+f8 key.

Before the wifi led was always off. Windows detected the wifi device but nothing on the wifi available list.
Now the led is always on, starts orange when I turn on the pc and blue when connected.

Cant find the wifi switch

Hi,

Press the Fn + F8 on the keyboard.

The Fn key is located at the bottom right corner of the keyboard and F8 (you'll see a small antena icon with F8) is at the top center.

I can't turn the wireless on?

Hi - With some laptops there are a few places you need to check to see if the wifi is enabled.

1st - check to see if you have a wifi switch. Usually found on the front at one of the corners or on the side of the laptop. Make sure the switch is "On". It may also be a button on the top of the keyboard.

2nd - make sure the wireless is "enabled" in your OS. If you are using windows, go to Control Panel then Network Connections. Make sure that where the wireless card is shown as a connection it says enabled.

3rd - If the second does not work sometimes certain wifi cards will use their own utility or program to operate the wireless card functionality. This can most likely be found in All Programs. Hard to say what it would be called unless we know the type of wifi card. Try the 1st two options, if they dont work, try this. Find the program, open it and make sure that it is enabled from there.

If none of this works, try restarting the laptop.
