Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter.
Here are my guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
-------------------------------------

If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play!

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

My Kenmore washer does not have a lent trap ,so where does the lent go ?

The lint goes out with the drain water, most of it. The rest of the lint gets attached to your clothes. If you have a much older machine, you will see gray streaks of stuff sticking to your clothes, sheets, etc...and that's the lint.

Clothes have lint on them when the washing cycle is finished is there a lint area i need to clean

The newer Whirlpool top-loaders have lint screens on the inner tub and not accessible. These are supposed to self-clean during the drain cycle. I've heard that liquid fabric softener and detergent build-up may clog the screens when lint sticks to the gooey screens. Try something that will cut the goo like vinegar or ammonia in a small load level without clothes. Without clothes in the washer, that is.

Older Whirlpool washers have lint filters located above the tub, on the lid opening.

Good luck from Detroit, MI.

Have had machine for 3 yrs - had no problems until recently when there now is a li\ot of lint on the clothes. i have changed detergents but this has not helped

If you have a lint problem, here are a few tips to try:
1) Low water pressure can impede the flushing action of the washer during the spin cycle. Look for pressure variations during filling of both hot and cold water. A kinked or blocked hose can cause this. Check for sediment in the hose as well.
2) Verify that the all of the water is being pumped out of tub and that no restriction in the drain hose exists.
3) Don't wash high lint producing items like socks and towels with your dress shirts.
4) Use a name brand detergent. They have higher quality cleaners and soften the water better, which helps release the bond between lint and clothing, allowing it be flushed away.
5) Don't overload the washer. Your washer needs water and room to remove the lint.
6) Run a wash cycle with a cup of regular white vinegar added. This will help rid your washer of any accumulated lint.
A washer doesn't produce enough lint to have any effect on a septic system, so a separate washer filter is not necessary.

Prblems with Kemore washer

Clean your washing machine before your next wash load to be sure there is no lint trapped anywhere in the machine. Fill the tub about half full of water then add a couple of cups of white vinegar to the wash water. Allow it to agitate and then sit there and soak for at least an hour before you empty the machine.
Lint is small fibers from clothing that have come loose from natural wear or laundering. They can build up in washers and wreak havoc on your clothing. The dryer will remove the lint. But with clothing, like dress shirts that are air-dried, this can be a real problem; often requiring multiple washings to remove the lint. Older washers came standard with removable lint traps that could be cleaned. Some would filter the water as it recycled through the washer, while others would require the removal of the center tub support for cleaning.
Newer washers have a self cleaning system that uses a filter to trap the lint and the spin cycle to flush it away. It saves the inconvenience of having to manually clean the filter.

A washer doesn't produce enough lint to have any effect on a septic system, so a separate washer filter is not necessary.

Add a cup of either white or cider vinegar to your washing machine along with the detergent before loading in your clothes to keep lint off.

Sort out all towels and washcloths since they create lint. Put them through a separate wash cycle to keep them from transferring lint to your clothes.

Check the labels on all your clothing to be sure you sort them correctly. Cotton clothing produces lint in the washing machine while polyester clothing picks it up. Wash them at different times to keep the lint off those that are likely to pick it up.

Turn your clothes inside out before putting them into the washing machine to keep them from collecting lint as they go through the wash cycle

are you overloading it?
And it for sure is comeing out of the washer with the lint all over the clothes? and not out of the dryer?
The only way this could happen is if you are overloading it.

Lint collecting and sticking on some clothing

Did you sort properly? sort lint givers(towels) form lint takers(syenthetics)

did you over load the washer? the wash load must be balanced clothes should move freely in the water

did you select to correct water level?

did you suse enough detergent? use enough detergent to hol the lint in the water

Did you line dry your clothing? if so you can expect some lint on clothing?

check the following:
was paper or tissue left in the pockets

is your water colder than 70 decrees F washe water colder than 70 decrees may not completely dislolve detergent

did you use the proper cycle time for the load? reducing the wash time is another way to reduce lint

Why does my washer smell like mildew? I've tried running bleach and vineger through it but it still smells.

usually from soaking clothes after a while the foam from soap sticks to the plastic drum where the bubbles are. its usaully above water level so doesn't get rinsed very well. manually get in there and wipe it out or try overfilling a tad with hot water and try to break it loose also make sure your lint trap is clean.

LINT STICKS TO MY CLOTHES IN WASHER

linting is caused by a few things
firstly what sort of soap poweder do you use
i recomend good quality powder
do not wash clothes too long as what you are doing is rubbing all the fibres out of them
good quality washing powder only last about 6 minets in water and after that it looses its qualiteseg
the PH changes in the water
you may be using too little soap powder and this also depends on water quality eg too hard or soft water
is the water levels set corectly
do not mix washing
eg towels with jeans as the lint will come off onto jeans
try using delicate wash on different fabric as the adgitation is different on different cycles
try using warm wash and not cold machine is probable ok but wah times are important
good luck

Crosley CAWC529JQ1 top load washer LEAVES LINT ON CLOTHING

try washing on a shorter time as this washer may have too good of wash action and the lint is fabric coming off your clothing
add more soap powder and do not buy the cheapest soap as the soap is important in the washing cycle of your machine
towels that are not too soiled brobably need 6 minutes at most on wash
if this machine has a delicate wash cycle use that for tee shirts etc
water pressure is important in rinse cycles
do you have high pressure and water only trickles in check water inlets on back of machine where the hoses screw on
good luck
