According to the Microsoft minimum system requirements: 16 GB hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit).
However, this is the bare minimum. If you add service packs, patches, etc., it might grow as mach as 40GB or even more. In your case you might want to clean the temp folder and the Internet Explorer cash.

In your Internet Explorer Click "Tools" - "Internet Options" - "General" - then click on "Delete". On the next pop-up window select "Temporary Internet Files" and click the "delete".

In addition you would like to empty your recycle bin by right clicking on it and selecting "Empty Recycle Bin"

I hope this will help you to free up some space on your Hard Disk Drive

Will not work on windows 7

Not compatible or not working well with windows 7?

Maybe, It doesn't work because the driver/application you installed is for other versions of operating system. I am also using windows 7 like you so don't you worry, You can still use your old installer/driver from other versions of operating systems. Just remember that before installing any program in a windows 7 Operating System Computer, Use "troubleshoot compatibility". Right Click the Icon of your program installer first, then choose "troubleshoot compatibility". This will allow you to choose on what type operating system your program will run. Just reply back if it still doesn't work.:D rate and vote for me:)) julyallan01_48.jpg

What is pagefile.sys do? And why does it take so much space? Also I wanted Windows XP to look more like Windows 7, can any one help?

Pagefile is reserved space on the hard drive in case you run out of physical memory, the hard drive can write the overflow to the hard drive and not crash the PC.

For the Windows 7 look for xp, Google this: Windows 7 theme for XP. You'll find many themes for free that will make xp look like Windows 7 there.

    Cheers!

My PCV-RX550 has 60GB, but 15 is C drive and rest on D. Most applications run on C. 1/2 D is empty. CRAZY! I want to add to the C drive side, and not disturb, e.g. loose anything. How do I do this.

Any partitioning software will allow you to alter the sizes of your 60gb drive without loosing data.
There are lots of options to choose from. Paragon software has a free version you can download:

Computer saying its using more space then it actually is

Go to computer management (Right click my computer and go to manage) and select disk management. There you can see unpartitioned space and used space. Create partitions in unpartitioned space.
