Question about Computers & Internet
Run through the setup screen to set up the network. If the auto connect doesn't work you may have to set it up manually. To do that you need to either set the ip addresses up to work with your router, if you're using one, or with your isp's ip numbers, dns address, gateway etc. And if you're using a router that has a wep or wap key remember that you must have that in too. You can not make connection if these numbers are wrong.
If you're using a router and manually configuring your ip number would have the same first three numbers that your router uses ie 192.168.xxx. and the last number is one you assign the ps3, one that isn't being used by something else on your network. The gateway address is the number of your router and the DNS numbers are the ones your ISP uses, usually listed on their website.
Also remember if you have to manual configure that these numbers will not work at someone else's house as your ip # will be different.

Tips for a great answer:
Turn off PS3 system..
1: Reset your modem by unplugging it from the main power source.
2: After a few minutes, plug modem power back into modem. Allow all connections to configure
3: Turn on PS3 system.
4: Go to "Settings" then scroll all the way down to "Network Settings"
5: Make sure that the "internet connection" (the second menu) is "Enabled"
6: Go to "Internet Connection Settings" and once you are prompted, select "Wireless" rather than ethernet. Ethernet is only when you have the cable plugged directly into the console.
