hi there,

the FH error means it's either you have a drain problem if there is water in it or if if there is now water in it, make sure that both water inlets are turned all the way up. check to make sure that you don't have any water leaks anywhere visible.

The filter is in the front on this one. Under the door, there is another panel. There are 3 screws that a 1/4" nut driver takes off pretty easily. Get a bowl and bucket. There is a white screw cap that you should easily see. Open it slowly with the bowl underneath. Close it again when the bowl is filled and dump the bowl into the bucket. Repeat until no more water comes out then unscrew it completely. Clean out the trap and replace. There is a stop that prevents you from overtightening. See if that works. A six dollar nutdriver is easier and cheaper than any repairman.

SOURCE: maytag epic z washer error code F21-have unplugged

F21 indicates a Long Drain error code. This indicates that you have an obstruction somewhere in the drainage system. In most cases, this means you probably have a clog in the drain pump.
You may have something getting caught in the pump impeller and slowing it down. Or, you may have something clogging the drain lines. You may also have to remove the inlet hose that runs from the bottom of the wash tub to the inlet side of the drain pump. Debris can commonly clog in this area as well causing the drain cycle to fail.
If this solution doesn't solve your problem, you may have to replace the drain pump. The error code will continue to appear until the pump is replaced.

Thank you !!

SOURCE: Maytag Epic Z Front Load

The error code is not 5 D it is "S" as in Sierra D. The letters stand for Slow Drain.
I had this code and it was fixed in 10 minutes or less.
Simply remove the bottom panel from the front of the washer. You do this by removing the three screws at the very bottom of the front panel. There is a screw on the bottom left, bottom right, and bottom middle.
Once the screws are removed the front panel should drop down slightly, and then you can remove the front panel.
On my peticular model the drain pump had a very large circular tube with what looks like a twist off handle in the middle.
On mine, you rotate the handle counter-clockwise. It's very stiff at first. This is because of the thick rubber seal that you are rotating against.
After about one complete spin it should get very easy to spin and you unscrew it completely off, and pull straight out.
On mine, the back of the tube you pull out contains a tray that hold junk coming out of the wash.
The tray has holes for water to pass through to get to the pump.
When I took mine out, there was one quarter, and one nickel in the tray. That was all it took to clog the dain holes so the drain water moved too slow.
The on-board computer measures the water flow and can tell if it is moving too slow.
Keep in mind, sometimes the money in the tray must have vibrated off to the side just enough that the drain flow was fine.
My error code would be there one day, and not reappear for about two days. Then it would come back every day for about 3 or 4 days in a row.
It was very irratic to pin down when the code would appear, and when the wash would be fine.
I cleaned out the money and some very minor lint and re-assembled.
It's been 3 months and the code has not come back.5314c3a.jpg

Need instruction on how to install a new boot on maytag epic z washer

The boot will have a retaining wire on both the front panel and plastic tub interfaces. You need to remove the front panel wire first. Simply pull the lip forward until you can see the wire. Use a pliers or screwdriver to remove it. Peel the boot off of the front panel and you can see the attachment to the tub. Same removal technique.

Be very careful when installing the new boot to be sure it is seated fully and correctly all the way around the tub. Reinstall the retaining wire. Same installation technique for the front panel.

Good luck.

F02 is fault code for DRAIN, the pump may be blocked or the drain hose blocked or kinked. Most washers have an access plug behind the lower front panel of the machine which you can open and check for blockage of the pump.

Drain wont drain on a epic washer where is the drain filter located at

The drain filter is located in the pump behind front bottom panel. Disconnect power and remove the three screws attaching the lower front access panel to the cabinet then pull the panel down and off the cabinet. You can prop up the bottom front edge of the washer or cushion and lean it against the wall to access and remove the screws more easily. Once the panel is off, remove the filter by turning the knob counterclockwise. Clean the filter from any debris that prevents water from draining out properly.

Need to remove bellow on MHWZ600T

well, you take the first ring off the front, then you roll the bellow inside toward the drum to access the second ring. You will have to take the front panel off to get the new bellow on. Be careful not to pull the wires attached to the door latch. unscrew that first.

The drum on my maytag epic z washer will not spin. You can hear the motor turning and it going through the cycles, but the drum doesn't spin. Is there a belt off or slipping? What is causing this?

Hi, The belt must have came off. Remove the access panel in the front and see if the belt broke. If the belt is off, see if there is an access panel in the rear that will help you get to the belt easier.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.
