Question about Sony Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

Sony cdx=r6550 player seems to default to very high volumn either with c/d or radio and if you have the volumn at a low level and turn it up it goes to 28 volumn instantly which makes you jump as its loud. tphpros@googlemail.com

Need the radio code for my Sony CDX-M8800 CD/Car radio to turn it on, I do not have the remote.

There is no code for this radio. Chances are it probably has a bad flexible cable that goes from the face to the main motherboard.

The AM reception problem: It acts like I have no antenna. When I switch from FM (which works great!) to AM, there is no volumn. So, I turn up the volumn. As I drive along, the reception ebbs and flows,...

The FM antenna is not the same as the AM antenna. The FM antenna is what sticks out of the car. The AM antenna is inside the radio, a grayish black rectangular or round bar of metal, with wire wond around it on one end. Receiver sensitivity for an AM tune circuit is critical. If tuned properly, the reception should improve. However, they are not in most cases because of the additional cost to perform a good job and the expensive of more critical components.

Sound problem in 97 dodge stratus

I had the same problem.. and I fixed it. The problem is the stock amplifier under the passenger seat.. What happens is you are pushing more amps from the cd player through the amplifier than the amplifier put out in the first place, so the amp acts as a resistor, and for some reason it causes the speakers to cut out when turning signal, brake lights, wipers, or any lights/electrical are applied. The only solution I know is to wire straight from your cd player to the speaker itself.. it's kind of a job but if you like wiring etc. it turns out alright.
Hope this helps,
Kyle
