By design, yes for one pair of 6-ohm speakers used at a time; depends on the sub for the second BUT there is no way to control its volume at the Sherwood.

My sherwood rx 4109 has no sound what do i do

Pull the sherwood power cord from the wall for 20 minutes. On the back of sherwood, check all cables and make sure they are in the correct places. Check speaker wires and make sure they are connected. 1)After 20 minutes, turn power on to sherwood. 2) select an input (radio, cd, etc.) 3) Push play. 4) Turn volume to desired level.

If your Sherwood has preamp outputs, you can connect directly to the power amp inputs.

RX-4109 Remote Controlled Stereo Receiver with Phono Section

Unlike the budget stereo receivers now flooding the entry-level price points at dealers across the country, the Sherwood RX-4109 is designed and built in-house with the same quality and attention to detail we have been bringing to our audio gear for the last 50 years.

With 105 Watts RMS per channel, phono section, binding posts, a versatile remote control and switching for two pairs of loudspeakers, the only thing that bespeaks the word "budget" about the RX-4109 is its modest cost.

Hello, I have a Sherwood RX-5502 and currently have a pair of 8Ohm speakers hooked up to the SPEAKER A terminals. Can I hook up a pair of 4Ohm speakers to the SPEAKER B terminals without issue from...

The statement on page 7 might allow enough wiggle room for a single pair of 4-ohm speakers used alone. Procede with caution and don't try to blow the walls down with them. Monitor for excessive heat or strain and if it clips or self-protects back off.

I'm not sure how to hook up a powered sub woofer to my rx4109 reciever

It doesn't have a specific low-frequency or subwoofer output.

Depending on your unnamed subwoofer we may be able to work something out. Any sub should be able to work with a full-range Line Level feed.

If you use a Line Level input you won't have volume control of the sub through the receiver.

That would be available at either Tape Out or Aux Out. Just run an RCA pair (or combined to one male out if that's what the sub amp requires).

Whichever one you use, you won't be able to activate that function for listening as it would remove the input to the sub amp.

If your sub accepts speaker level High Level inputs you could drive it with speaker outputs and yoi WOULD have some volume control, assuming the sub had a way to match its initial volume to your other speakers.

Of course, the manual for your sub might explain some of this, too.

Keeps turning itself off

If Both speakers are working at a low volume and you turn it up and it clips and shuts off you have one of 3 problems. you have over driven your speakers and one has shorted the voice coil but still will work at low volume, its a overload protection for ohms short in receiver. unhook each speaker and turn balance to the one hooked up and turn up receiver if it shuts off do the same with other speaker to determine which side is bad. 2 speaker wires are touching at speaker or receiver. 3 a bad receiver output transister. Good luck.

Can I hook the reciever to mm bose subwoofer and 5

if bose unit has built in amplifier .Then your sherwood would have to have a variable RCA output jacks in order to work with sub. Then bose audio input RCA cable would connect there. If bose unit does not have built in amp .Then you would connect sherwood left/right speaker outputs into bose left/right inputs .Then other bose speakers will connect to bose unit

you may be using an equalizer? try to pop-up the volume with all tone controls in flat mode. see if it still cuts off. if this is the first time youencounter this then something must be wroing with either your speakers or your amp. unless your ventilation is not good enoughg, you can also try placing a blower on top of your unit to cool it down
