Error code F24 is described as a problem with the water temperature sensor but it can also indicate a problem with the heating element. The first step need to be taken is checking the resistances of the water temperature sensor and the heating element.

Turn off water supply then disconnect power and remove the rear access panel. Remove the four plastic shipping bolt hole covers. Lift the rounded end to unhook the locking tab from the slot in the chassis and slide the cover off the rear panel. Remove the hex-head screws (arrows) from the rear panel then pull the bottom of the rear panel out and slide it down so the top edge is out from behind the lip of the upper panel and then remove the rear panel.

Once the rear access panel is off, locate the water temperature sensor and the heating element at the bottom of the tub.
jahn27_243.jpg

Disconnect a wire from each of the sensor and the heating element then measure the resistances. Using an ohmmeter, set it to the R X 1K scale then touch the test leads to the sensor terminals. The meter should indicate a resistance shown in the table below.
jahn27_244.jpg

Replace the water temperature sensor if the resistance is not within the range and temperature given in the table. Check the resistance of the heating element if the water temperature sensor resistance is found good. Set the ohmmeter to the R X 1 scale then touch the test leads to the heating element terminals. The meter should indicate between 10 and 15 ? if the heating element is good. Replace the heating element if the resistance is significantly higher or lower than the normal resistance.

Check the continuity of the sensor and heating element wires and the connection to the central control unit (CCU) if the resistances found above are all good. This is to check for any short or open circuit in the wires and loose connections in the CCU located at the front right top of the cabinet.

Remove the screws from the rear of the top cover then pull back on the cover and release the tabs in the console from the slots in the cover then lift the cover off the unit to acerror code F 24 on - jahn27_246.jpgbr />jahn27_246.jpg

Hi.

F24 is water temperature sensor error. The code is prompted when the sensor reading is out of range, and usually means that the sensor is bad.

The temperature sensor is a thermistor plugged at the back of the tub. The sensor is represented as part 23 in the diagram below, click on the picture to enlarge:

error code F 24 on - ginko_95.gif

The sensor is connected to two wires and plugged into the tub. For testing, the sensor is accessed removing the back panel. Once in there the sensor must be tested using a multimeter set on impedance (Ohms). Remove the sensor from tub and touch the sensor contacts with the multimeter probes. If the multimeter reads open (Ohms infinity) at room temperature , then the sensor has failed. If the multimeter reads zero or low impedance, then the sensor may still be shorted. Impedance must be read in boiling water to ensure it is opening.
Testing and repair must be carried by a trained person. Power must be turned off before performing any maintenance.

Before doing anything else, disconnect power to reset the appliance and check if the problem happens again. Otherwise it could have been a one-off occurrence.

Here the sensor. Click to open page.

Here all parts and diagrams for this appliance.

Regards.

Ginko.

Hi

F24 is a water temperature sensor error and this error comes up if the water temperature sensor/switch (NTC) value is out of range (23°F to 217°F [-5°C to 103°C]) during the water-heating step of the WASH cycle. First unplug the washer and then check the water temp sensor & its connection. Check this diagram...part#23 is the water temp switch (NTC). Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

I have a Maytag MAH-24 Washing Machine showing a 5E error code

You will have to contact Maytag and speak to their service dept and give them your model number. Ask them what a 5E eror is and when you call for service, tell the repair facility what Maytag told you. That will next to eliminate labor cost for Diagnostic.

He2 plus front load washer keeps showing F21 error code. I cleared the drain pump filter. Still displaying F21 how do i check to see if i need a new pump

Hello,

If you found a blockage in the pump screen restricting the drainage and it now drains fine but F21 is still there, the error code can be cleared by pushing the PAUSE/CANCEL 2 times within 2 seconds.
If after clearing the error code if it returns on the next wash cycle the pump will need to be replaced.

I hope this has helped you resolve your washer troubles,
Gene

Sears Calypso Washer purchased in 2004, displays the CA error code. Unplugged the washer for a couple hours and replugged in. Ran a cycle without anything in. Worked fine. Placed a load in and it ran for...

CA - Average Current peak - happens if there is a 2 second average of current draw greater than 5.55 amps at the motor windings. This may signify problems with the drive motor, thermal protector, or motor controller. Overloading the unit may cause this problem. Try washing smaller loads and see if the problem goes away. If it recurs when you wash bigger loads, decrease the size AND watch to see if you have to continue to decrease the size to keep the error from happening. If that were occurring, it could well be a sign of the electrical problems noted, requiring service.

Error 77 is apprearing

Unplug the unit.
Hold down the menu key while plugging back in / powering up.
When finished initializing, hit 99.
Wait to status comes back and hit 91.

This supposedly happens due to a power surge or outage.
If this doesn't work for you try reversing the numbers above.
I have a bad memory, it might be 91 first then 99 but, you definately have to hold down the menu key.
