Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

We have a 2 year old Polaroid TDX-03211C television. Teh DVD player does not work. I can hear the DVD spinning around, but the video player does not recognize that there is one in. Is there an easy fix? Is this a common problem with these type of TV's with the DVD player built in? Thanks for you help.

It could be as easy as cleaning the laser. If you are a smoker, chances are that the smoke got inside the unit and is causing an issue. Wont read disc. Need to take DVD player out of tv set and clean laser. If that doesn't do it, make sure u are playing the correct type of DVD'S. Some types wont play in tv, expecially if they were burned from a computer. Usually DVD-R'S play fine and DVD+R'S won't play on some dvd players. Give that a try and let me know how things turn out.. Why all of a sudden dvd stops working along with all inputs just blue screen saying no signal on a polaroid hdmi tdx-03211c?

Go to manufactures web site under support and look for a possible firmware update for a start. Also check to see if it might be heating up. Dust can cover vent ports quickly and cause this also. Especially if its in a cabinet .

Polaroid hdtv tdx-03211c turns on for 10secs or so and goes blank

More than likely your t.v has bad capacitors that power up the light bulbs that light up the screen. I had the same problem with a similar Polaroid t.v. and replaced two bad capacitors and that solved the problem. Take the back off of the t.v. and look for capacitors that are bulged at the top. The capacitors have the model number on the side. I found replacement capacitors at www.digikey.com for a very low price. Here is a video that you can watch on how to replace the capacitors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCSNWi3UHf4

Polaroid tdx 03211c no signal problem?

Check for loose contacts in power outlet, RC cable, jack and socket. Change input device to some other like a DVD player. Switch off TV, switch off power, remove plug and wait for 48 hours and retry. If problem persists, call in a qualified service technician.

Hi. Hope you can help with a DVD problem we have with our Polaroid TDA-03211C television: After I insert a DVD, I hear two clicks and then the message "No Disk" appears on the screen. The DVD player is not...

We had the same problem. Call Polaroid and they will send you a replacement dvd player. It was a malfunction on their part. It seems the DVD player gets too hot and then it doesn't work anymore.

No Picture only sound polaroid tv tdx 03211c

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

Please post back what you find.

No power ,dead, fuse good, polaroid tdx 03211c,

Is it about 2 years old? If you checked the fuse I presume you removed the back cover. A lot of these sets have problems with filter caps on the power board---easy to tell---follow the power cord to the power supply board----you will see a number of round parts with plastic on them--most are marked on the side plus and minus--and will have markings like 470 @ 16v; a 470 mfd at 16 volts, look carefully at the silver top of all of them-----it should be perfectly flat with two or three creases in it---IF YOU FIND ONE OR SEVERAL WHERE THE TOP LOOKS BULGED UP----you found your trouble---all the damaged caps(these sets vary from having 2 or 3 to 7 or more) need to be replaced with caps of the same value but WITH A HIGHER WORKING VOLTAGE--REPLACE 16 volt cap with 25 volt cap etc. If you find this is your trouble the parts should be less then 20 dollars. The reason this happens so often is many of the companies us the least expensive caps they can get---saves them money but most of these sets I have seen with this problem fail before 3 years.
