This info can usually be found on a router's internal page. What router do you have?

How do I find SSID of home network so I can establish connection between laptop and wireless printer.

Log into the router (try 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 in the address bar of your browser), and then look at the wireless settings pages. The SSID is listed in plain text. If you never changed it - it is "linksys" (no quotes).

I hope this helps!

I am trying to set up a wireless printer connection. I need to know my SSID and Network key. How do I find this information?

the SSID is the name of your home network. if you dont have a wireless network the printer might not function adhoc. the network key is the password used to connect to your wireless. some devices have the ssid and key listed on the bottom of the router.

I cannot find my ssid for wireless set up

if you connect to your home network router with a network cable, you can find this information by opening a command prompt, (its in your start menu or right above the start button by typing "cmd" without quotes, at the command prompt Type without quotes "ipconfig" and look at your Gateway. this will be the address of your router, often it is 192.168.1.1. Next open internet explorer and surf to this address. this should present you with your routers configuration screens, if you get prompted for username and password look up the defaults on the web. They are not likely changed from factory. anyway try admin and admin, that is the most common. In the routers utility look for a wireless tab or heading.first, try to find what your SSID actually is set to, you may have your network set as "hidden" which disables the SSID brodcast. change the setting to broadcast SSID and save and exit. then disconnect your wire and try again. IF this helps you, please click on the thumbs up. cheers.

Wireless connection doesn't work (ip not in subnet)

I had fits getting it setup myself for wireless. Despite any efforts to use the wired connection to change the wireless settings, I just couldn't get it to work. I ended up printing the configuration page to learn the expected SSID and then changing the SSID on my wireless router to match the SSID the printer was polling for. At that point it acquired a wireless address properly. Because I was several hours into making it work, I never tried changing anything else after I got it working.

HP printer cannot find access point and I'm not sure what to do.

You must first connect your printer to the pc using usb cable, then run installation wizard that is on the CD that came with the printer.

Wizard will guide you through the setup orcess where you will provider your routers ssid (linksys) to your printer, and your printer will use that ssid to connect to your router.

After the Wizard setup is done, it will tell you to disconnect the usb cable and only then your printer will work on wireless.

Good luck,
Milan

I have a J6400 all in one series. Troubleshooting says " HP printer cannot find your wireless router. Check that your HP printer network name (SSID) matches your wireless router network name...

If your router is set not to broadcast or has encryption enabled, you will first have to program the printer by software throught a USB cable, or at the panel on the printer. The printer manual should explain how.

If you need a copy of the manual or other support, it's at this link. Just select your exact printer model and operating system first.
