Canon digital ixus 750... problems with flash

Your flash or mainboard are bad, only way to know which is to replace one and see if it starts working.

If you can't find a suitable parts donor camera online please let us know, we can get boards for only about $45.

Camera wont turn on

Very odd that both cameras would stop working at the same time, has someone else abused them?

Removeing the batterys for a while is a good enought reset, check the battery connectors and contact your dealer if they both have warranty you will get them repaired or replaced for free. other than that I can recommend you a repair man if you provide me the city you live in.

E 18 problem

Lens errors (E18 errors on Canons) are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

Canon SD 850 says lens error,

There could be a number of reasons for the lens error. ie. . sand in camera, impact damage etc. Typically the lens can be dissasembled and repaired by a competent camera repair technician. If you are certain that you did not damage the camera in any way I would send it back to canon for a warranty repair. If you however think you could have damaged it you are probably looking at around $100 to repair the camera. Hope this helps!

Camera wont turn on

Here are some simple things to try first for a camera that won't power on. They won't work for every case, but they're worth a try:

I've had the same problem...after 3 years of fantastic operations, it just died after a few shots on day...just can get it to power up...not sure if its worth a repair as you can buy a 7.1 MP camera these days for ~$200...and they're smaller... but Im sad coz I really did dig my S70....

Camera goes on but lens and zoom do not work

I saw a post suggesting removal of batteries for 24 hours to reset camera, then try brand new manufacturer recommended batteries.... (my wife informed me that my 3 year old dropped ours....... i know there is a moral to this story.... but try the 24 hour approach to see if it resets... otherwise probably not worth fixing...good luck

Dead Canon A75

A complete camera failure is usually caused by a power problem. Naturally, after checking the batteries, you should inspect the metal battery terminals inside the battery compartment. Also, many cameras (including the Canon A-series) have a memory card door with a safety interlock lever (power switch) that is engaged only when the door is completely closed. Finally, I have learned (from a Canon camera forum at Digital Camera Resource) that there is a small fuse soldered to an internal circuit board that sometimes fails for no apparent reason with several different "A" series Canon digital cameras. The fuse story, with photos for those brave enough to void their warranty and open up the camera, begins inside this thread, "Canon powershot A85 spare part needed!!!" at this web link: http://www.dcresource.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18151 You'll need to read a couple pages down to get the entire story. Good luck.
