I have an Orion tvset CRT, model T20MS, which, when turned on, has a milky image, and after a few seconds, has a good image and works normally. Where is the problem? Which component is out of order?

Sounds like a bad capacitor on the circuit board

sometimes you can see a bad "cap" when you open unit and look at it

it will either be very rounded on top or even have the top of it exploded and brown looking stuff coming out of it.

I have an Orion tvset - capacitor.jpg&t=1&h=78&w=149&usg=__dzsncfdoi9nc5iw-auxxh_9rz80=this is what capacitors look like they will be different colors and sizes

hope this helps

good luck!

I have dish network and I am unabe to get the dish network remote to control the tv power and volume. Whenever dish gives me a code it works for a few days then the tv rejects it. I have a 27 in orion...

1.) Hold down the clear "TV" button on the remote for four seconds, then press 500 pound ( #)
2.) Hold down the clear "TV" button on the remote for four seconds, press the big power button once.
3.) Press the channel up button once per second until the TV turns off then press pound (#).

If this doesn't work and you have an LCD TV turn off the back light. As it is probably causing interference this is found in the TV menus.

Is it possible to purches a remote control for an Orion Model TV 134R? If not wil an universal remote control work on this model?

You first need to see if Orion is still in business. I used to see some of their vcr's in my shop. I have been out of the business for a few years now. As for a universal remote working I am sure you will be able to find one that will at least work some of the functions. There is a company named MCM Electronics that you can get in touch with and I am sure they Will be able to help you find something. Their number is 1-800-543-4330. Good luck.

Black box on screen

On your remote should be a button called TV caption or text. Turn off the closed caption as someone hit it and turned it on by accident. If its not on your remote, then it is in the menu. Good Luck Ps Please dont forget to rate this thread.
