Whirlpool washer leaking from the bottom. we think it is the water pump. is this difficult for the homeowner to fix?

No. Remove screws holding control panel down and lean back. Remove two spring clips holding cabinet to rear panel. Lift rear of case up and remove case forward. Two clips hold pump to motor.

Disconnect power to the machine and remove the back cover by removing the screws holding it to the cabinet. Once it is removed, remove the wiring harness from the heater terminals. Loosen the center nut that secures the heater to the bottom of the tub and pull the heater out. You now have access to the bottom of the tub where the foreign material is most likely got caught. If not, turn the drum until the material gets to the bottom of the tub.

Pull the material out and reinsert the heater into the opening all through the heater clip at the bottom inside of the tub. Reconnect the grounding wire to the grounding terminal and tighten the nut to secure the heater. Reconnect the heater wiring harness and reinstall the back cover.

The drum in my whirlpool calypso washing machine has come loose. can it be fixed?

This could be caused by a spring disconnecting from the drum inside the machine.First unplug the washer.Pull it away from the wall a foot or so and remove the bottom panel, this should pop off by prying in the seem between the panel and the main cabinet. If it doesn't look for screws which may hold it in place. when removed tip the washer back toward the wall and have a helper hold it.Look for long springs (probably 3 of them)) which hold the drum centered and upright. If one is missing, broken,or unhooked it is the cause of your problem.

My frigidaire microwave door is sagging and is about to fall off

EASY get a machine screw, nut with washer. I believe I used a 1/8" machine screw.....(find something small to fit in the hole on the bottom hinge.

First step, take 3 screws off bottom to expose hinge area. Have someone hold it or support it so wires to the light do not pull out,.

Pop the machine screw through the front and then with your fingers get the washer an nut and tighten down.
If you want the professsional look. Paint the machine screw white first with a enamel white paint.

When checking out the lid switch on my roper washer as jsrock suggested in another post, i heard a screw drop from the inside of that area which caused the lid switch to become unmounted completely. also,...

Top lid pull up. Look in seam between top and front cover. On each side you will see where top clips to front cover. Put a screwdriver in there and lightly pry up till clip releases. Front cover will now pull up and be removed, so you could get what fell in.

Need to Know how to remove top and cabinet

first, do you have phillips screws on back of console at bottom goin down or in front bottom? one or the other remove these then slide console forward and fold back on hinge on top. if no screws then clips are hidden on front edge on end plates. use putty knife from front to push and release lifting console at same time. fold back.
use screw driver to pry and release brass clips holding top to rear panel. unplug lid sw connector and pull cabinet body away from machine. top and cabinet is screwed together and removed as one piece. cabinet hinges under base on front and sits on top of sides.

Zanussi FJD1666W heater removal.

There is no easy way to access the heater without stripping it down.
Remove top cover.
Remove 2 scews at rear bottom of cabinet.
Remove 2 plastic covers at front bottom sides of cabinet, and remove 2 screws located in holes, you will need a nut socket to remove them.
Remove inlet hoses, and undo screw at top where the hoses connect to, prize up the plastic retainer that holds the valves in place.
Remove screws at top of cabinet that hold the 2 halves together.
Then lift rear half of cabinet clear of the front.
At the bottom rear you will see the heater element located.
Undo center nut and remove element..
Fit back all parts in reverse order.
Not an easy job. Good luck.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

sounds like you migh have a bad motor coupling 285753a, this machines equivelint to a belt, motor turning but transmission not??? doesit agitate or just make same horrible noise??? well if so heres how to replace it. looks and reads a lot longer then it actually takes. should be done in under 20 min.

remove 2 screws holding down console, depending on year they are either on the bottom of the face of console in both corners or looking over the top of unit you'll see 2 screw head in both corners screwing down into machine. remove the screws and the console will flip backwards. disconnect the harness going through he main top(lid switch assy). and twist off with a screwdriver the 2 brass wavy clips 3 inches in from either side of machine.( you nay have to twist hard but they will pop theyre sorta spring loaded), lift of the entire cabinet and set side. youll see the pump assy 2 spring clips remove it(leave the hoses attached just hold out of the way, next 2 spring clamps hold the motor and youll find the coupling just behind there, youll need to smack the coupling back on to the shaft, i use the back end of my nut driver and hit with small hammer. dont need to kill it but will need to be forced on, and your done reassemble, (dnot forget ot plug back in the lid switch before closing the console,) ant the cabinet hooks under the front of machine and should fall right back into place, the brass clips will line up real good when cabinet is on properly just a firm push down and they snap right back in
