Question about Microsoft Computers & Internet

Open Question

I'm trying to install office home and student using the disk, and it keeps coming up saying "setup cannot find HomeStudentr.WW\HomeStudentrWW.msi. Browse to a valid installation source, then click OK", I've selected the disk drive but it says this is invalid. What do I do?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Get message that "Setup cannot find Office.en-us\OfficeMUI.msi"

If your disc is in Drive "D". then click the browse button to the right and select "D" from the drop down list...you can tell the drive the disc is in by clicking on "My Computer" (can be found by clicking the start button) Look for the icon that has a disc on it, if office is loaded in the drive, the icon may even have something that says MS Office. That is the drive letter you have to select in the source box that is shown to you.

Try Manually installing the software. copy the content of the disc on to an empty folder then run the installer from that folder. usually this problem is caused by a damaged disc or the disc reader is having a hard time reading the disc.

SOURCE: Setup cannot find Enterprise.WW\EnterWW.cab.

Hi There,

When it asks for the "valid installation source", direct it to the installation CD drive where the MS Cd is. There's a good chance it will heal itself that way and move right on ahead.

Marcus

You are certainly using a disc not properly burnt or some files were ommitted while the cd was being prepared for burning. You will have to obtain another copy from wherever the defective one came from.

As I spent 45 minutes in chat with you, I have a vested interest in this problem. For some reason, the chat was disconnected. However, there is also no record of the chat on FixYa...

It appears that this is pirated software, and that is the reason it is not installing. Please advise the source of purchase. Thank you for using FixYa.
