Make sure that you have 240volts at the back of the dryer. If you do, unplug , remove rear cver and check thermal fuse and thermostats with an ohmeter

No heat Is the drum turning? yes Is heat selected? yes

you will need to check the thermal fuses they are located next to the heating element. If you have a volt meter you will need to check the continuity on all the thermal fuses and the heating element replace the part that has no continuity.

There are times that the main circuit breaker can be bad you may need to check the power and make sure there is 220 volts to the unit.As you check the thermal fuses and heating element make sure the unit is unplugged

Whirlpool electric dryer not running.

Hi,
Check the blown fuses and home's circuit breaker tripped. Dryer use 2 household Fuses or a circuit breakers, If one is blown, the dryer may still operate but not heat. Alternatively, the dryer may heat, but it may not heat up as hot as it should. Replace the Fuses or reset the circuit breaker.

I own a Maytag Atlantic that is only blowing cold air no matter what cycle I set it in also when I open the door the light is not turning on, could this be related and what the causes may be?

Hi,

Check the blown fuses and home’s circuit breaker tripped. Dryer use 2 household Fuses or a circuit breakers, If one is blown, the dryer may still operate but not heat. Alternatively, the dryer may heat, but it may not heat up as hot as it should. Replace the Fuses or reset the circuit breaker.

Another common cause of a dryer failing to heat is a faulty Heating Element. You will need to replace it.

Maytag med5740tq0 will heat up but drum does'nt turn

This could incidicate one or more problems. One of which could be that your belt is broken and no longer turns your drum. part number for the belt is 8066065 which is better known as a 341241. this is a common problem and can be replaced by removing the drum. The other possible cause of the drum not turning could be a blown fuse inside your home. This will allow the heater to work but not the motor since they both take 110v. If your fuses are okay, you could also have simply a burned connection. I would visibly inspect these and then have it checked by a technician if they check out.

Thanks

If your Heatpump's fan isn't running but your compressor is, your fan motor is out. If nothings happening at all ensure your getting power to heatpump (ex: breaker tripped, fuses blown on outside power switch, or fuses blown in breaker box?)
