Question about GE WCVH6260FWW

1 Answer

Good morning. I have a GE Adora washer. Last night my wife let me know that it has not drained properly in the last two days. I removed and cleaned the lint trap. I then started the washer back up in the drain cycle, It still would not drain, or spin. I then looked at the pump at the lint trap and the impeller turned freely. Started it up again and all I heard was a motor humming, and it was not the pump. It was still humming even after I powered down the washer. Any ideas?

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I see you have already attacked the filter! Were you able to test the motor in motion as well as checking if it was free? If not here are the last 2 paragraphs of my 'check drain filter and drain pump motor' guidance notes ;-0)
(REMOVE POWER)
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Good luck!

If drain hose is connected to a standpipe check that it's inserted no more than 4". You may be getting a syphoning situation that is allowing gray water to contaminate clean clothes.

Hi, my GE Spacemaker WSLP1100D0WW Top Load Washer is leaking from the bottom during the drain/spin .. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks

I've just had this same problem and successfully fixed such problem. I had to set the washer on blocks and crawl underneath while the wife was turning the washer on spin cycle for a few seconds. After following the leak I discovered the drain pump assembly was cracked. Some epoxy and a day of curing / drying cut the leak out like a charm. I also went ahead and ordered a new drain motor while I was at it and installed.Good luck!Davejr021@yahoo. Com

Standing water in the tub

bad inlet water valve --turn water supply off and watch to see if machine continues to fill with water --suggest removing inlet water lines from machine and inspect the strain screens on the machine for sediment build up if so clean

Washer will not spin

I fixed it yesterday. After checking the continuity of my lid switch and pressure switch and finding them ok I removed the tubing from the pressure switch and applied air (blew into it). There was a clog and blowing on it removed it for now. Apparently the pressure switch was telling the machine that the tub was full of water and wouldn't let it start the spin cycle. I ran three loads last night and it worked perfect. I may have to remove the connection on the side of the tub and clean it properly if it clogs again.

WATER POOLS UP IN WASHER OVERNIGHT

Siphoning, or a water inlet valve problem can cause this problem. Siphoning occurs when you have your drain hose inserted into the standpipe too far creating a vacuum. Not only does it cause problems with the washer's ability to maintain proper water levels, it can also cause back flow from the drain into the wash tub. Check your drain hose by lifting it up from the standpipe. You do not want the hose resting in the drain trap. You need an air gap to proper drainage. Do not seal the top of the standpipe and make sure the drain hose should be placed into the pipe about 4 to 6 inches only.

If you check the drain and it is fine, more than likely your cause is a leaky water inlet valve. The solenoids in the valve do go bad and can leak by, causing the washer to fill slowly during periods when it is not used. The valve is easily replaced by removing the washer top panel and shutting off the water supply. There a couple of mounting screws and dispenser hose to remove and thats about it.

HINT: A simple test to determine which one may be causing your problem would be to turn the water lines to the washer off for one night. If the problems goes away, you likely have a a water inlet problem. If the problem persists, you know you probably have a drain problem.

I hope this helps you. If you have questions, please let me know.

Incessent beeping and won't boot

you told that your PC was ok last night. and again told at morning when you started it then it started giving beep. there may have 2-3 problems.

1. your processor has become loose, so unplug and plug the processor again correctly.

2. cooling fan can't cool the heat sinker properly. so test it that if the cooling fan is working properly.

3. The RAM can be loose. So test the RAM. Unplug the RAM and then plug it perfectly.

but you told that you PC is starting and then shutting down giving a beep. so i think you PC problem is number 2. and I hope you follow the number 2.

Washer probs

Possible your outlet filter is blocked. This requires cleaning depending on your usage. Clean this out and refit. Good luck. Plug off the wall first. There should be a door somewhere in the front or so, be prepared for some water to flow out when u open it.
