Could be 2 problems. either the condenser is dirty or the condenser fan isn't working. To check you need to pull the unit out so you can get behind it. your gonna need a 1/4" nut driver to remove the cardboard panel at the bottom. The condenser fan is next to the compressor and should be spinning freely. If its not running then thats your problem. if it is running fine, then you may just need to clean the condenser with a vacuum. Clean behind the unit by the fan and the compressor. That should solve your problem

Door hot

Totally normal. The condenser sends hot gas through the frame to stop the freezer door freezing to the frame. Check to see if you have a fan behind the condenser grill and make sure its running and clean

Freezer is frosting

Even frost free freezers will frost up in high humidity, especially if there is a poor door seal. Defrost the freezer by turning it of and placing pans of hot tap water in the freezer. You can speed this along by helping to remove the ice as it melts. Check the door seal after you've defrosted the freezer, a bad seal is one of the big causes of frosting up the next biggest problem is usually holding the door open.
If it's a frost free unit, if the problem continues you'll need to have it checked out.

Door seal between fridge & freezer is hot is this normal ?

No, there is a heater in the seal of the doors to keep the doors from icing up, if it is hot to the touch then the heaters are going bad and must be replaced. You can replace it yourself by removing the door seals, and then removing the heating element that runs the whole door. When you do this make sure that the unit is unplugged.

The doors are scorching hot to touch on my Maytag 2454. It's always been warm to touch, but all of a sudden it is too hot to even touch. It is in the center part of both doors, along the door seal area and...

It's usually caused by the condenser fan which is underneath around back. If it's not running when the compressor runs it will cause the problem you describe. You will need to remove the cardboard backing on the back of the fridge to access the fan.

Roper side by side refrigerator gettig very hot to

Most side by side units have a hot return gas line that is attached to the "mullion strip" to prevent sweating or moisture build up which could cause mold to build up on the door seal. The heat you feel is normal, however excessive or continuous heat is a symptom of the unit running too long.

Below is a link provided by www.repairclinic.com, which will help you understand how a refrigerator works.
Tip: Make sure door seals are sealing adequately and keep entry time to a minimum during high heat periods. Use the rule "Get in, get what you want and get out"

Gasket seal around refrigerator and freezer doors is hot.

This is likely part of the defrosting feature and if it is always hot, the defrost timer has failed and is keeping the seals hot.
The defrost timer is normally located behind the lower grillwork and many are equipped with a slotted shaft that can be turned with a flat-bladed screwdriver. The slot will also let you see if the clock motor inside is running. You would need to mark it and give it time since these things rotate only once every 12-24 hours.

Freezer side is hot outside

There is no problem at all. The outside of the freezer is hot because it is rejecting heat from the inside of freezer compartment to the outside surroundings, this is a normal refrigeration cycle. As for the seals being hot, this may be to prevent the door from freezing shut. i know that commercial and industrial freezers have heated seals for this reason.

Fridge is getting hot in between the doors

This is called a mullion heater and is perfectly normal as this heater prevents the area between the doors from freezing. No danger at all.

Sub Zero 642 - Gasket on the Door is really HOT

That is normal and is designed that way to keep moisture from forming water drops on the door seals. The "old days" used electric heaters but most now use the heat from the compressor liquid. If it's really hot you may have dust all over the condensor coils and should be cleaned to reduce the compressors heat output. Other than that, it's normal operations!
