If your computers motherboard is older than 5yrs and does not have 2 gb of ram it will not support windows 7 also since you have removed your hard drive you must have moved the leads attached

one bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure connections and are not faulty even the electic extensions or just replace them they are probably faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error hope this helps

My toshiba tecra S2 notebook doesn't recognize the FUJITSU 60GB HDD fix disk sometimes ... What could cause this problem

The hard disk may fail completely sometime in the near future OR it is not making proper connection to the motherboaed.
Try removing and inserting the hard disk to ensure a proper connection to the motherboard and if it still causing intermitten problems, then back up your data ASAP and prepare to replace the hard disk when it fails completely.

How to detect if your hard-drive is working or not/hard disk maintenance.

Some times you don't know if your hard drive is working or not. Your external hard disk might drop on the ground, or your desktop/laptop hard drive might not be booting. Which ever the case maybe, here is how to find out the condition of your hard disk:

Put your ear close to your hard disk, if you hear your hard disk make a crackling noise, be prepared to buy another hard disk because such hard disk is damaged and cannot be fixed. Also note that it is difficult to recover files from such hard drive.

But if you don't hear a crackling sound, use your hand(s) to feel the drive, if it vibrates, it means the hard disk is in good condition.

What damages external hard drive most times is if you don't eject (safely remove) it from your computer, when it drops on the ground or hits any hard object etc

If your external hard disk stops working, firstly, check if the hard disk inside the case is in good condition by checking for crackling sounds and vibration. Once you observe that the hard disk is in good condition, this means the hard drive case is defective/the cause of the problem. Get another drive case and your drive will work again without loosing any file/data on it.

For desktop/laptop hard drive maintenance, make sure you always shut down your computer properly, don't remove the CPU's power cord while the computer is turned on. To be on a safer side, always use UPS (uninterrupted power supply) for your desktop computer.

Also, when using your laptop, makes sure its fixed at a position. Avoid any shake as the hard disk might shift from its normal position in the process.

Good luck.

I could not read my hard drive when i connect it through an external casing.do i need any driver my hard drive details are Fujitsu MHV2060BH 60 GB SATA Hard Drive

If you are running windows 7, it should download the driver automatically. The disk may be faulty. Listen for any clicking or grinding noises coming from the disk.

You can try installing the Western digital smart ware via the CD provided with the drives or the Western Digital site. In many cases, this will allow older computers to recognize the drive;

Want to use clone hard drive to run XP

Because the HP and Fujitsu have different devices, you cannot clone (or create an image of) the hard disk and expect it to work on the other laptop.
Your best bet would be to copy your data files onto a USB memory stick or an external USB hard drive and plug it into the HP. You can open the files on the USB memory Stick/hard drive to work on them or copy them to the HP's hard drive to work on them.
When your Fujitsu has been repaired you can copy the latest files from the USB memory stick/hard drive back onto your Fujitsu.

Hard drive replacement

Hi there, I have an HP nx6110 and it had a WD 60GB 4200 rpm IDE, I bought a Seagate 80GB IDE Hdd and it worked fine. The only think you should be careful is to check if you need a SATA Hdd or IDE Hdd, but I think it's a SATA.

Firelite HDD repair

The only think that can be replaced is the whole had drive unit inside the plastic enclosure.

If you disassemble an hard drive unit on normal environment you have over 90% of chances to damage the disks, as hard drives are normally built in a special e pressurized environment (clean room).

Therefore , even if it is possible (providing that also control board is replaced) the 60Gb 'internal disks' with 120MB, it is not worth attempting the operation, as chance this is unsuccessful are too big, and such rebuilt hard drive won't be a reliable data support.

If instead you want just to replace the external USB enclosure, in that case the operation can be done with no problem, just find a 120 GB disk and replace the old 60GB.
