Load up in safe mode. Keep Pressing f8 when you turn on the laptoptill you get a menu use the arrow keys to select safe mode. when windows loads you will see your usual login and another called administrator , click on the administrator and log into that one, click start > control panel > user accounts and click on manage accounts then click create new account, called it what ever you want. then once you have created the account restart the laptop and then log on to the new account instead of yours . Report back here if you are able to login to windows ok using this method

Windows 2000 server fails to load,

Even if the scan says all ok I suspect bad sectors. To confirm try making images of the drives.

If you are able to get good images you can try raid reconstruction software.

If you need help I would suggest they offer both online data recovery and do-it-yourself data recovery

My Studio 1535 has crashed. It will not reboot Vista. When I turn it on it will show the Dell Splash Screen and then go to the "Windows Error Recovery" screen which shows these options:...

    To start the systemrecovery:
    1. Restart the computer.
    2. When the Computer logo appears on the screen, press the Alt and F10 keys repeatedly.
    3. If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows boot screen, press the Enter key.
    4. After the system recovery application has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.
If the ability to reinstall from the previous method is not available orfails, recovery of the Operating System will need to be from Recovery Media. Ifyou do not have a set of Recovery Media, you may purchase the set onlinefrom the manufacturer. Note: If your computer does not havean internal optical disc drive, an external optical disc drive will be requiredin order to recover the Operating System using Recovery Media.

If the issue is software, then this should resolve:
Reset BIOS Defaults then see if the drive works.

If that has no effect, ensure the drive is detected in the system BIOS and ensure you can boot to the drive using your Windows DVD. If not detected or not bootable then the drive has likely failed.

Sounds like a definite no boot issue. Turn the system on to the diagnostics (Fn + Power) see if the diagnostics show a failure. If the hard drive passes diagnostics, then boot to the XP CD and try repairing the WIndows installtion
