Question about Safe International Digital Electronic Safe Lockbox Gun Jewelry Lock Box Tool

1 Answer

I have a Safewell Electronic System's home safe. I have misplaced the keys. Fortunately safe is still working with the digital code but I am hesitant to lock it in case the batterries fail to open it as I have no back up keys. Need duplicate keys. Can anyone help?

A set of emergency keys is supplied with every Safewell safe. In case the batteries drain out, you may use the emergency key to open the safe. These keys override the digital password. Remember, never keep the emergency keys inside the safe.

Have a safewell electronic system safe ex2007126498 want to open it lost key and forgot the password

NOTE: The safe needs to be upright and right side up or the locking mechanism
won't work.
ELECTRONIC SAFES
To open an electronic safe the first time, press the following numbers/letters on the
electronic keypad -159B. (These numbers are preset. You should change the codeicon1.png as soon
as possible after opening the safe to insure proper security). After you have entered the
factory set code, you will need to turn the knob on the faceplate to open the door. You will
have 5 seconds to turn the knob before the locking mechanism is reactivated.

Before you close the door, try the new security code to make sure the lock release the
knob so you can turn it and retract the locking bolts.

If you can not get this open more then likely you will have to cut it open.. One last thing to try is to email safewell sales@safewellsafe.com

Hello -

I hope I am safe in assuming your mother (or you) tried opening the safe with the key and that did on work.

If so, this YouTube video may prove instructive regarding opening a digital safe:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcYB9ceiAiY

This YouTube video shows another method:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjrTTlxWTIY

Note: Assuming the safe can be opened following one of the techniques in the video, a new battery / batteries should be installed before resetting the code. (Also, I understand the batteries should be replaced regularly to avoid the battery / batteries becoming depleted and causing problems in opening the safe.I suggest replacing the battery / batteries once a year - note the date on a calendar you will look at regularly.) Plus, you and your mother should write the new code down and put the information in places where you will remember them. I like to put codes in my address book (a physical address book for people's names, street addresses, and phone numbers - very old school.) For a safe code, I have used the maker name of the safe as the "last name" and my first initial as the "first name". Example: Safewell, J. I have also made the code look like a telephone number. For example if it is a 6-digit code for the safe, I have made the code the first 6 digits, followed by zeros. Example: code is 987654, phone number in my address book: 987-654-0000 (USA phone number style.)

Best wishes.

I hv a safewell safe. i locked the emergency key before setting my personal key inside the safe. how to open the safe now?

You'll most likely need help from a locksmith. Basically, the lock can be picked, to get the safe open. There might also be a factory pre-set code.

Without having to drill it out, it is possible for a locksmith to impression a key for the safe. Another possibility is contact the manufacturer, give them the model and serial number AND show proof of ownership. They MAY be able to send you a replacement key.

If you did NOT change the code, you can contact the manufacturer and they may give you the factory preset code, but you will have to prove that you are the legal owner, most likely. Otherwise, it will be time to call your local locksmith that has some safe work behind him (or her).
