I never had that problem but after i put ringones on my phone, my screen started freaking out and kept getting worse and now after 5 days it's completely white. i ordered a new one and should be here soon but do you think it was just a unstable phone to begin with? (the side buttons didn't work before) or should i not try it with the new one too?

if youre trying to program your alltel phone number on a verizon phone yet keep your alltel service its not going to work. the phones are locked to the carriers and cannot be unlocked. depending on where your cellphone number is based out of your serivce will most likely turn into verizon anyway. but as far as i know right now you cannot use the verizon phones. i could be wrong, i live in an area that is going to become AT&T not verizon.
Go to this link and download the drivers. Plug in your phone and when it asks about a driver click install from a specific location. Once the driver is installed, open Bitpim and click auto-detect phone. Then go to View -> Filesystem. Go to the filesystem and there is your access!
Simple solution, Alltel belives and enforces digital copyright management, while you can listen to your favorite tones and music, you will NOT be able to use them as ringtones, or use them with any of the features of the phone other then playing the tunes for entertainment. The only way to use files as ringtones is to purchase the files from alltel, or use their realtone jukebox, etc.
have the newest version of bitpim make sure you have the drivers for the USB cable you are using. open bitpim let it find the phone(it will come up as other CDMA phone) click FILESYSTEM on the left at the bottom expand the folder click dload right click on lg_mysound.dat and save it to your desktop after you save it right click lg_mysound.dat in bitpim and delete it now click brew click media click lk click ms
now drop the songs you want to use as ringers in this file. they will automaticlly load into your phone. it isnt the fastest process but it works.
after they are done loading onto the phone, unhook USB cable from computer, power the phone off and then back on.
the items you just transferred with now be in the my audio file where they need to be to assign them for individual ringers.
everytime you wnat to add new ringers to the phone you have to complete all the steps above, even the deleting that one certain file. not a very hard process and has worked well for me.
good luck and happy mp3 loading songs into the phone as ringers.
call alltel customer service from a phone other than the wireless device experiencing the trouble and they will reset the phone and networking and this feature should work fine after then!! the number is 1-800-ALLTEL-1
just choose the Tech support option and listen to the computer talk for a while, then select to speak with a representative
Have you updated the firmware lately? Some of the newer versions wont let you delete your ringers once they are stored. Do you know how to use bitpim? If not shoot me an email and i can walk you through it. It is really easily to use. Good Luck!
