I tried to install windows 7 on my HP Pavillion DV9, but it's not booting from CD-ROM, i tried using a USB CD-ROM, but it's still not booting. pls I need assistance.

Hi,

Try to check if the windows 7 disc that you are using is not just an upgrade disc. Make sure that it is a bootable disc. Try to use other bootable disc to test. Also make sure that the boot device priority is set CD/DVD drive.

Hope this helps.

Recovery Issues A105-s361. Boot sequence always starts with HDD. Tried F12, tried F2 (bios). Any other way to boot from recovery disk(CD-ROM)!!

There is still a way for you to boot from your CD ROM. Just access or go to BIOS again, look for "BOOT" tab and then set the boot sequence of your computer and the set the first priority to be on the (ODD or CD DVD ROM), just make sure you put the CD ROM option at the first section and to do that, Use the arrow keys on your keyboard and highlight it and then press normally "F5 and F6" further instruction are there any way. Once your done, press F10 and select save and exit, Insert the disc on the CD ROM restart your computer at that time your computer should be booting now from the CD ROM.

Cheers . . .

Cannot boot off the cd rom, goes to harddrive every time. changing the boot sequence does not help

Try the cd in another computer to see if you can boot from that one using the cd - if you can then the cd is probably o.k.
Also I've had this problem when the boot disk has turned out to be a dvd and not a cd at all and when the boot sequence takes place - because it is a dvd then it doesn't recognise it and goes straight to the hard disk.

There may be a need to check the Jumper settings on the IDE drive, I would make sure the jumper is in the master setting and also to try to keep the cd rom connected also when you boot it up again.

Ok, well i wiped the hard drive and i need to reinstall **** windows... but i went into the boot sequence to select the cd rom to read the windows disk but it says that no boot device available what to do?...

Try restarting the computer, then tap F2 to go into the setup. In the boot menu, see if cdrom is the first boot device listed. If it's not, use the arrow keys to move it to the first boot device. Save that setting and exit, then try to boot from disk.

Hello,

You should set the first boot to redirect to the cd ROM boot.

Go to the bios setup by pressing " F2" or "DElete" and first boot.

In there find the boot sequence or boot order something like that and set it to cd rom (pls follow the screen instruction when selecting some option) . after selecting the boot order press "F10" to save and exit.

some PC you can select by pressing "F9" and the first boot and you will be directed to the boot selection automatically.

may this help:

pls do not rate me if my solution not solve the issue and you need more further information. but if is invaluable solution rate me fixya.
