Question about ACE Dimplex (r) Compact Electric Fireplace (DFP36430) Heater

1 Answer

2 of the light bulbs blew out; replace them and less than a week later; they blew out again. Prior to this problem, the high setting would cause the fireplace to switch off. Ran it on lowest setting, it ran good till the bulbs started blowing out.

I would check the sockets, make sure that they are burnt. I would also check the wiring for short/bare wire. Hope this helped Tim

Perhaps the fan motor is slowing down, which would cause more heat to build up in the unit, resulting in:
    1. Overheating at the highest setting, which triggers the emergency overheat cut off switch, and
    2. Might cause the bulbs to prematurely burn out.

You might try replacing the motor, or cleaning it, or rebuilding it. Many electric motors have their brushes wear out, which can often be inexpensively replaced, or sometimes repositioned to take into account the increased wearing that has occurred with age.

Headlight keeps blowing

Check the amps that are being drawn by the headlights. Compare that with what the bulb should be drawing using:
amps= watts / volts
I am going to guess its higher but not to the point of blowing the fuse for your lights. I would then start checking grounds.
Or, you used halogen bulbs and you touched the glass. I doubt they would both fail at the same time from that.

Could a bad ground be causing my turn signals and blower motor fuses to be burning out?

short in one of the bulb sockets for the backup lights is the most likely cause, water getting into the light is another. the only other thing i can think of is if there is a short in the neutral safety switch.

One of my turn signals wont work, both my headlights only work on highbeams

replace the high beam switch which causes this problem. Also clean the terminals for the directional light bulb. That will cause a negative continuity to the bulb

Headlight keeps blowing out 1996 yamaha virago 1100

Hi, Anonymous if your headlight is not working, only one beam works, keeps burning out, blinking, or is dim the first thing you need to check is the headlight bulb for damaged filaments then check your light circuit fuse, then check your head light bulb socket ground wire for a clean tight connection, that being said the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty ground or power supply wire to headlight bulb socket.
2. Worn down solder contacts or loose fit of the bulb base in the socket due to vibration.
3. Worn, chaffed, or broken wires in the light circuit.
4. Corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets in wire connectors.
5. Faulty hi/lo beam switch.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Fuse is good but no continuity on both sides.
8. Faulty wiring between battery positive and headlight bulb socket.
9. Weak charging alternator/generator.
10. Faulty voltage regulator/rectifier ground or overcharging.

I have a 1990 toyota camry, the fuse for the dashboard lights, glove box light & rear running lights(they are all the same fuse). blew, I replaced it and all was fine. A week later again the fuse...

Depending on the year. I.e. 89-91 camry, all have a yellow god fuse in the driver side of the trunk space behind liner.it is about 2''*3" cant miss it, being only yellow part. It is usual cause of certain outside lights completly out, have had to change mine 2 times in ten years, junkyard is best at 20$, new is near 200$.

Kenmore 73089 AC keeps blowing the control board. (Doesn't respond or light up in any way when power button is pressed. Outlet power is good.) A repair tech replaced the board last summer. It blew again...

Sounds like a short in the wire. Not sure if that board powers off high or low voltage but I would say you definitely have a short. You need to replace the supply voltage wire.

One surface light bulb on GE Profile microwave keeps burning out

I have the same problem. The left one burns out within a couple of hours use, the other one lasts a couple of months and is then gone. This pattern has repeated over 8 years. I replace them every now and then and then just go without until I get the urge again to fix it. Maybe smaller lower wattage lamps are worth trying...

Sound, but no picture. Standby light blinking 5 times

A few weeks ago my set started flashing to a black screen. Now a couple of weeks later, i have no picture, but the set turns on and i have sound. The standby light is flashing. I purchased the set in 2000 so it is seven years old. This is the first problem. Could it be all three of the bulbs? Could it be all three of the bulbs? no as you say that sound is ok that means your power supply &high voltage section is ok. please check chroma ic luminance section or system control section stand by ckt ihanks
