I have gone through 2 of the same from Lowes and neither has worked - both the same Samsung gas dryer. Our plumber says nothing is wrong with the gas and connection. I am trying to get Lowes to refund my money and get something else. But, I would rather just get it fixed. Any ideas out there?

It seems this unit needs more than adequate venting if your dryer vent is even a little cloged or the run (distance ) is to long it will not get hot.

It ended up being a easy fix. Our old dryer was working fine and had been ran an hour before I hooked up the new Samsung dryer. Therefore I assumed when the new dryer did not work there had to be something wrong with it. There ended up being nothing wrong with it and it was my dryer vent. It was barley plugged which caused it to not heat up properly. I was told that the new dryers have a lot more sensors on them and its very sensitive about needing a clean vent to vent out the heat. My vent was not very dirty, but it had just enough build up of lent in it, it caused the dryer to not vent properly and it would keep shutting the flame off. Blew it out with my leaf blower and now it heats up and dry quick. I hope this helps

Oh my gosh - I was convinced that I had a lemon. I had heard such good things about the Samsung and mine (gas model) was only heating to 99 degrees (with a infared thermometer gun). I called Samsung and they asked me if I cleaned the vent pipe and I said yes. After I read this post I disconnected the hose completely and just ran the dryer with no hose to see if better flow would help with the heat. Almost instantly the temperature gun was reading 160 F on a free exahaust! I was charged with new found hope so I hooked up my shop vac on reverse (blow) and my wife went out in the backyard to let me know if anything was happening as I ran the vac. She came in and told me to have a look. I couldn't believe it there was a pile of lint over a foot tall that had collected over the years. I reatached the vent line and the dryer worked perfectly. But the story does not end here. After I pushed the dryer back in place I did not do a good job of watching the exhaust hose and it got some pretty tight corners. Sure enough the temperature dropped again. So I redid my hose making sure that there were no sharp bends and now everything works. I have completely reformed my opinion of the machines after crashing down off such high expectations. I love them and my wife just washed 11 bath towels and 4 pairs of jeans in one load and the dryer had everything toasty dry in 50. Dont give up - clean out that vent line!!!!

Hello All and Hreat info but the best Garunteed way to have a Safe Clear Vent Line is to have a Service Tech Send Special Equipment From Start of line to the End Outside. If the dryer venting is over 12' (Ft) Long with AnY Bends you may need A Booster Fan connected which will also Save Energy, Time

NOT DRYER CLOTHS LIKE IT USE TO TAKING MUCH LONGER

Check for clogs in the vent air line. If dryer lint or some obstruction is slowing the air flow it will take longer to dry clothes. Also the dryer may not be getting hot enough. Check to see if the clothes feel hot or warm when you reach inside. If it feels hot enough it is likely an issue with air flow. heat and air flow are required to dry clothes.

I just bought a gas dryer - takes forever to dry clothes

check the high limit switch/thermostat on the burner housing and if they are weak they will cycle the heat off too soon and it wont build the heat you have it set for, just bypass it with a jumper wire to test it,if this is the problem, dont leave it bypassed, replace it as it is a safety feature to prevent a fire

2 yr old samsung dryer does not dry clothes totally

Remove the vent completely and clean it out 100 percent. Elbows (corner bends) will hold more than you think causing the dryer to keep the heat off. The sensors for the newer style dryers detect plugged up vents and shut down the heating modes. If cleaned and still no heat the spark ignitor has gone bad

The vent may be stopped up, or the vent hose crimped so the air cannot escape, you can check the air flow at the vent on the outside of the house while the dryer is running.
try cleaning the vent and the lint screen with a vacuum cleaner, you may need to replace the vent hose, this should solve the problem

Most common cause of this is a clogged venting going to the outside to test this remove the vent from the back of the dryer and run a load if it drys ok them you know you have a venting issue and will need to be cleaned out if not plz repost and we can look deeper into it
