Question about EA Sports Madden NFL 2000 for Windows

Cannot save anything on Madden 2003 when installed on new computer with Windows 7. Says I have less than 1 MB free disk space even though it's not true.

I have doubts about it being a virus problem for two reasons: 1) I've read some other posts with the same exact problem (but don't see an answer to them); and, 2) I continually run Norton 360 with updates and have blocked several viruses, trojans, etc. after ensuring I started with a clean slate.

Seems there must be a simple, yet baffling, conflict in what Madden 2003 expects to see for a "save space" when running on Windows 7 that is different from when it runs on all previous versions of Windows.

Hello
First, uninstall norton and throw it away.Try microsoft security essentials its free and works much better. If you choose to do so,let the program do a full scan.

http://www.microsoft.com/security/pc-security/mse.aspx

You may very well have a virus and norton doesnt know it.Ive used norton and panda both, now i use microsoft.

As far as disk space, run disk clean up and disk defrag to organize your hard drive. If you have too try chkdsk or scan disc.Do this by clicking on your my computer icon, then right click on drive c,select properties then tools then error checking...check the box for scan and fix bad sectors.

Answer yes to perform disk check..Reboot.This may take while so dont interupt.possibly an hour or more. But this should fix your problem.

This is virus related issue.Virus creates unusual files on drive so it say 1mb free space. First remove all temp files /Scan computer with updated antivirus then you can save it. Also press windows key +R so you can see run type in run "%tmp%' without "" then press enter remove all temp files.Type in run "prefetch" without "" then remove all prefetch files. Then check. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

Hi,

According to your problem it is just a problem with your operating system. See the system requirement properly. Your game version support up to Windows XP OS, but you use Windows 7. You need 300 MB hard drive free space and 16 MB Video Memory. So there is something which not fulfill your game requirement. So you have two way to solve it either change your OS or Update your game. The best solution is to using

windows7 supported game.

How can I extend my C partition to remove its low disk space problem?

The partitions D,E and F may system partitions for tools like system restore and diagnostics. I would suggest removing some stuff from C:, if that is not an option you could consider a hard drive upgrade.

My computer is not any faster even though I transterd all of my files and movies

FIXING A SLOW COMPUTER
A slow computer could be caused by a number of things - 1. Insufficient RAM (memory) - if your computer has less than 512Mb of RAM then increase it to at least 1Gb of RAM. 2. Registry problems - clean and repair the registry, it will contain unused registry keys. Use programs such as Registry Mechanic, Microsoft RegClean etc. 3. Uninstall/remove unused programs, this will also free up hard disk space. 4. Not enough hard disk space - swap file space may need to be increased if Windows hasn't been configured to manage it. 5. Install latest Windows updates. 6. Update virus definition files and scan computer for viruses, Trojans, malware etc. 7. Clear the Internet cache for faster browsing. 8. Hard disk maintenance is required at least once a month to keep it functioning efficiently. Run the following programs - Disk Cleanup - removes temporary files that are no longer used and to recovers hard disk space. Disk Defragmenter to make fragmented files into contiguous files and therefore the hard disk access is faster.

Error message 1324. The path My Pictures contains an invalid character. Version 2.5.2.36 Can I remove? Can I update so my Quickbooks program can update? Need help please!

There are 3 possible reasons why you are getting this error message:

1. An invalid character in QuickBooks installation path.
2. An incorrect path setting in the Windows registry.
3.Insufficient hard drive space available to install the QuickBooks program.

To fix this problem, please do the following:
  1. Restart your computer, and reinstall QuickBooks.
  2. Confirm that at least 2.5 GB of disk space is available for installing QuickBooks (Quickbooks 2010 requires 1.5GB of disk space):
    1. Double-click the Computer (for Windows 7 or Vista) or My Computer (for Windows XP) icon on your Windows desktop.
    2. Note the amount of free space shown in the window next to the drive letter where QuickBooks is being installed:
      • If the amount of free space is less than 1 GB, free up disk space before installing QuickBooks or install QuickBooks on a different drive.
      • If the amount of free space is greater than 1 GB, proceed with step 2.
  3. Remove invalid characters from the QuickBooks installation path:
    1. Right-click the Windows Start button and select Explore.
    2. Navigate to the path shown in the error:
      • If there are non-alphanumeric characters in the name of any folder in the installation path, right-click the folder and select Rename to remove them, and then reinstall QuickBooks.
      • If there are only alphanumeric characters in the installation path, proceed with step 3.
  4. Create a new user in Windows to rewrite any Windows registry settings that may be causing the error and log in as that user to install QuickBooks.
Note: You must be logged in as a Windows administrator or as a member of the Administrator group to add a new user.

How to install wins 8 on dell Inspiron netbook 1018

proceed according. God bless you
  1. Create a New Partition
    • 1 Launch the Disk Management tool on your computer running Windows 7 by opening the Start menu and typing "diskmgmt.msc" in the search bar. The Disk Management tool, showing all connected storage devices, appears.
    • 2 Pick the hard drive onto which you'll install Windows 8. The normal choice is Disk0, which is the primary hard drive. This disk should already show your C: drive, and possibly other items like recovery partitions.
    • 3 Verify the available free space on the selected disk. For most computers with no other dual-boot setups installed, the entire drive should be occupied, so you'll have to shrink an existing drive (like C:). If there is a section with a black bar titled "unallocated," then this represents free space not currently in use.
    • 4 Shrink your C: drive by right-clicking on it and selecting "Shrink Volume." The computer assesses and reports how much free space is available on the disk. You need a minimum of 16GB of free space to install 32-bit Windows 8 and 20GB of space for 64-bit Windows 8. Type either 160000 or 200000 in the "Enter the amount of space to shrink in MB" box. Increase that number if you want additional storage space for files and programs within Windows 8. Click "Shrink" to continue.
    • 5 Right-click on the new unallocated space and select "New Simple Volume." Leave the defaults, ensuring that NTFS is selected as the file system type. Give the drive a name, like "Windows 8."
    • 6 Insert your Windows 8 installation disc or USB drive into your computer. When the new drive is formatted, restart the computer and boot from your installation disc or drive.
    Install Windows 8
    • 7 Select "Custom" during the Windows 8 Setup initialization process.
    • 8 Select the new drive you created when the installation program asks you where you want to install Windows 8. Be sure to select the drive with the label you used for the new drive; if you install to the C: drive, you will overwrite your existing Windows 7 installation.
    • 9 Follow onscreen instructions to install Windows 8.
    • 10 Reboot after you install Windows 8, ensuring that you've removed any installation media. When the computer restarts, you are presented with a boot screen that lets you pick between Windows 7 and Windows 8.

I have Acer aspire 5742 model. It has operating system of Linpus I want to remove it and install windows 7 and Linux os. Please give instructions to do that chirani

You don't have to do anything to remove it actually. If you just format the disk it will be removed (for ever though) so just install the right on it don't even have to boot in Linpus.

Making your laptop Dual boot(that is the term for having two operating systems on a computer) with windows and Linux is a little tricky though.

Basically the whole problem is that windows will wipe your linux if you are not careful and will wipe your boot partition for sure (Windows 7 might not - haven't tried it).

So All you have to do is install Windows. While partitining the disk just take enough space for it and leave enough for the windows - you can wipe the whole disk if you want to. The Linux will need from 4 - 12+ GB of installation space (maybe less if it's live cd and you won't keep files there).
After you have installed your Windows. Just install your favorite Linux distribution in the space left.
If you have any other questions mainly to the Linux installation, I'll be pleased to help you.
