    Hi,

Have tried these hints and they have not worked. This program did work on 95 but won't work on new computer with windows 7. Have been unable to get any other program too work with these discs as well as the browser. Really need to get this back up and running for my business.

    Thanks Leanne

Do you know if the images are in common image formats (ie jpeg/png)? If they are you can just browse each cdrom/dvdrom using exlplorer. You need either a compatible graphics program such as Photoshop/GIMP or other to view the files. You can also use a graphics file converter to convert the files if needed. I remember there was a image cdrom collection that was in a properiety fle format in which you had to install their image viewer. Hopefully this is not the case here.

It appears that IMSI Master Clips is a very old set of clip art and images.
what you may want to try is running the program in compatibility mode.

From Windows 7 start menu, type "compatibility" in the field for "Search programs and files" area. You should see an entry pop up that allows you to "Run Programs Made for Previous Versions of Windows"

Run the wizard and see if it will then allow you to run the application using the built in Compatibility emulators.

Good Luck

Your other option could be to download a copy of a virtualization application like microsoft virtual PC or sun's VirtualBox and run an older version of windows that you can install this application into.

  • jerrymac12 Mar 29, 2011

you can also use a virtual machine to run an old version of windows to install the application on. you can use Microsoft Virtual PC or Sun's Virtual Box and find an old version of Windows to install in the virtual machine and run the application from there.

Hi, if there is a problem installing and running, this software, perhaps you could try installing in "Compatibility Mode" for XPSP 2 and doing so as Administrator' Right Click the .exe and select properties.
Also IF installing on a 64 bit system, then also you may have to turn OFF Digital Driver Signing, press F8 every time you boot up, and select from the menu. You may need to do this as WELL as set Compatibility Mode

Fix Adobe Acrobat or Reader 9 Crash on Internet Explorer 7 Problem

Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader 9 enable the computer to view PDF files.
These applications also install an add on, or plug in a small software that adds extra features to a programto Internet Explorer 7, enabling IE7 to load PDF files from within the browser.

If conflicting add-ons are installed to the browser, or if the Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader software is not properly installed, however, IE7 will crash whenever it attempts to load a PDF.

Open Internet Explorer.
Hold down "Alt" to show all of the toolbars.

Click "Tools" from the menu bar.
Click "Internet Options."

Go to the "Advanced" tab.
Click "Reset" to revert the Internet Explorer 7 settings to default.

Restart Internet Explorer after resetting the browser.

Return to the "Tools" menu and click "Manage Add-ons."
Wait for all of the add-ons to load in the right pane, then look through the list to find the add-ons labeled "BHO" or "Browser Helper."

Click each add-on with "BHO" or "Browser Helper" in the name, then click "Disable." Restart IE when finished.

Download the Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader 9 software from the Adobe website, if you do not already have the setup program on your computer or on disc.

Click "Start."
Click "Control Panel."

Click "Programs," then click "Programs and Features."
Scroll to "Adobe Acrobat" or "Adobe Reader 9."

Right-click the program. Select "Uninstall" from the context menu.
Follow the onscreen directions to remove the software from the computer, then restart the PC.

Log back in to Windows and click "Start."
Click "Computer."

Navigate to the folder where the Adobe setup file is saved or insert the Adobe Acrobat CD.
If the file is saved on the computer, double-click the file to launch the installer.

Follow the onscreen prompts to reinstall the plug-in to Internet Explorer 7.
Restart the PC when the installation is complete.

Open Internet Explorer 7 after booting to Windows.
Open a PDF file from within the browser to test the browser.

Google won't open on my pc

Dear, First check if you can reach the website on the same network but with different devices other than your PC in question. Like your iPHONE, or another desktop computer, but make sure you are on the same network which doesn't go to Google-related websites. If you can't successfully reach the websites, your ISP (internet service provider) may have filtered out Google from allowed IPs.

Does Hijaak Pro version 5 run on Windows 7 64-bit? I was running it fine on XP Pro SP2 (I believe). I have now installed it on my new laptop the newer OS and it fails to let me open any files...saying...

I installed it today on my system - Windows 7 Pro 64-bit operating system. It installed and took a while, but I didn't select the CAD drawing part to install; I just selected the Hijaak part to install to get screen clips. That part installed, and works, but differently than on XP. You can't change the option for the key to get the clip, so it is Ctrl/Shift/C. Then a white screen comes up (wish it didn't). If you know about where it was you wanted to clip from the picture you were seeing, you can select it using your choice that was set up before the clip - rectangle, window, screen, free selection, star, etc.. On the white screen make your "blind" selection and then it clips from the picture you were viewing. Then you can paste this into a MS Word or Photoshop. If that white screen didn't come up covering your picture, it would work fine -- don't know how you could get rid of that. In Photoshop the layers show the background as total white and then your clip as the 2nd layer and it has the white outside the selected area, which can be inverted to delete that white background. If anyone knows a work-around to not have that white screen cover up what you want to see - that would be great!

Also in the Windows Pro 7 64-bit you can choose to install Windows XP SP3 from the MS site and work with your old programs that way. I haven't tried this.

I have an old version of your clip art product. How can I run it on Windows 7?

Are you sure it won't work, outright?

Try installing it. If it doesn't work you can try installing via Win 7 compatibility mode.

Let me know if you need specifics.
