Cleaning lint from back of dryer

I need to clean the lint from the back wall of the dryer, I can see it all in there but there doesnt seem to be a way to get it out. I think it is delaying the drying time.

i dont think i can use a leaf blower or a vacuum attatchment pack, so any more ideas will be great. It sucks paying so much for a dryer that doesnt allow you to clean the lint out easily

This will definitely delay the drying time, and is also a severe fire risk!

If you are able to, it is sometimes best to replace the line, if it is the flexible line. If aluminum, you need to get a proper fitting attachment for your shop vac, or vacuum cleaner.

Either way there are products out there, if you don't have an attachment that will fit.

Here is one link, and there are many others available!

Good luck!

So, your lint is in the dryer itself?

You will need some sort of thin attachment to remove it.

You could do the leaf blower trick, by blowing from the back exhaust of the dryer into the dryer, the big problem here, is you will have a laundry room full of lint!

    Good Luck, Brian.

Does not dry. is there a filter that needs to be cleaned

So is this a Washing machine or a Dryer? It is hard to tell with these front loaders. If it is a Washing machine it is not suppose to dry.

If it is a Washer: Do you mean it is not spinning the close to squeeze most of the water out before you put them in the dryer?

If it is a Dryer: There is usually a lint trap just inside the door. However, if that is clean then you could have lint building up in the hose behind the dryer where it is supposed to vent outside. Sometimes that hose gets squashed between the dryer and the wall and doesn't allow the lint to move freely out of the tube. You can remove it and clean it out with your vacuum cleaner.

Dryer puts out way to much lint

Hi, two things. Check your vent hose in back. Where it come off the dryer, it must go straight to the wall outlet. No bends please. Also, go outside to where the vent is on the wall. If it has a bird screen on it, remove and clean. Check the flapper door inside vent cover, is it loose and laying flat. If not clean. Hope this helps.

Have a WGD 9400 SW Gas dryer. there seems to be very little heat in the drying process which is now taking forever. Any ideas.

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

Clean your dryer vents, and lint filters. You may need to clean vent from wall to outside. to test this.. unhook vent pipe from wall..and run dryer and see what happens. If the problem does not improve, you may have a defective heat coils.

My legacey washer is leaving lint on clothes

Of course you've probably already done this but if not, check the filter and clean it. Additionally, you might need to wash it to remove residue from dryer sheets and BE SURE TO DRY IT BEFORE PUTTING IT BACK IN THE DRYER. If the filter is clean and washed and you're still having lint, get a dryer brush and clean down in the area where the filter goes. Also go to the vent area outdoors and clean that with the dryer brush. That area can become clogged over time and prevent the dryer from effectively removing the lint. Furthermore, check the exhaust piping. If it is bent, gently move it a little to dislodge any lint that might have gotten stuck there over the years.

Dryer seem to take to long drying

Hello,

Very common problem. You need to call a
duct cleaning company and tell them to clean
your dryer vent. Rule-of-thumb: dryer vents
should be cleaned every couple of years to
prevent them from being clogged with lint and
causing lint fires. This is definitely your problem.
Good luck :)

p.s. one way to verify a clogged vent is
to go outside where the vent exits the house
and feel the air-flow. should have adequate air-flow.

It takes three cycles to dry clothes, andthere is heat?

The most likely cause is poor airflow. This may be due to a clogged lint screen (should be cleaned after each load) or a clogged vent. Run the dryer empty and feel the airflow from the vent outlet (where the vent exits the house). If there isn't a good strong flow of air, remove the duct where it attaches to the dryer and check for flow right at the dryer. If there still isn't good flow you may have a bad blower, but chances are the duct is clogged with lint. If it's the white plastic flexible duct or the corrugated metal kind you should replace it with solid 4-inch vent pipe. This will give the best airflow and the smooth walls won't promote lint buildup.

Increased drying time; removal of lint behind tumbler ???

I have a top loading Kenmore High capacity dryer that is over 10 years old, it has been working very well, unfortunately when cleaning the lint filter my wife dropped a piece of paper down the lint duct hole. The paper evidently fell to the bottom of the lint duct. I am unable to reach the paper from the top of the dryer where the lint filter is inserted. The dryer now makes a grinding type noise when it is turned on. Can you tell me how to reach the paper and remove it
